I'll add a preliminary honorable mention for Keith Williams. His ability to receive the ball right under the goal and elevate to dunk is impressive. And if he's on the move it's a little Dr. J. flashback at times.

Depends if you out more stock into style or power, or effectiveness. Did I hear somewhere that Tre Scott had more dunks than anyone in history this year? Or was that just post Cronin era?

My all time favorite dunker by far is Maxiell, I may ne biased because he was my favorite player all time. But that dude was ferocious. Even through James White was flashy on break aways, I rarely ever recall him dunking in traffic.

Wasn't the dunk outlawed before what, the late 70's?

I wonder what some of our fantastic 60's teams could have done with the dunk.

Darnell Wilks was in the college dunk contest. He had hops.

Yes I agree Mel 1, White 2, I can't put that kind d of separation between the two. I mean JW went between the legs from the free throw line. He can challenge for #1.

My all time favorite dunk by him was the one to beat Duke in the Great Alaska Shootout. 02-13-banana

RE: All Time Dunkers
Melvin Levitt was probably the best in-game dunker, but considering that James White is arguably the best free throw line dunker in the history of basketball, I think that alone should elevate him to #1.

I remember Art Long being able to force the ball through the hoop with a little authority.

White could certainly fly, but it seemed like every time Levett dunked he was trying to get the opposing team to just quit playing basketball and move on with their lives.

RE: All Time Dunkers
Back in the day, UC played Arizona in what I believe was the "7-Up Challenge" or something. They played Arizona twice in consecutive years (unfortunately lost both), but there was an ally-oop to Curtis Bostic who two-handed dunked it home running along the base line and I swear his shoulders were above or level to the hoop! Anybody else remember that?

The other thing I remember from one of those games was Keith Gregor getting popped in the face and him being on his hands and knees and blood gushing onto to the floor out of his nose.

RE: All Time Dunkers
I don't think people remember how good of a dunker Bostic was. I'd rank him #1 all-time UC history as an in-game and in-traffic dunker. I remember him doing reverse dunks in the paint from a standstill position.

Thanks for posting the clips, that might be the dunk, but I could have sworn they had on white uni's. It was a long time ago so I could be completely wrong!

RE: All Time Dunkers
Dion Dixon puts Florida State in the trash can

Blount and Buford with the textbook 80's reverse jams

Yancy threw down so hard on this defender that several of his multiverse copies dropped dead of heart attacks

Justin Jackson's didn't have much of a jumper but he could throw down. Stick around for a reminder why he was the most exciting shot blocker we've had other than Kenyon breaking the rules of physics

Tre Scott should be remembered as one of our best

Nick Williams and Keith Gregor threw down two handed tip dunks where each seemed to jump about a foot higher than they ever had before. Can't find images of either though..

Can't argue with James White being on the list - but he was more of a dunk contest guy than an in game dunker. He did have some hops though, check out his head level with the rim:
