The first one could be read as sort of a backhanded slap; the others not so much.
But she definitely has a bad case of Twitteritis -- maybe she's planning to run for President?

If you don't think these are jabs at Shaver and crowing about accolades, we live on different planets. Screams that she thinks Shaver lacked values-based coaching and so many thanks for trusting and believing in her decision to can Shaver in favor of her 7th choice...because we all know Knight couldn't have been as successful with Shaver as coach.

Ha, so now we're attacking Huge for congratulating Fischer for winning COY, Nate Knight for being player of the year, and others for making All-CAA teams. Ok...

No dispute that she crows about successes and accolades -- this is true across all sports. Not really my preferred look for an AD -- doesn't she have a day job? -- but to each his/her own.
The "values" tweet, I agree with you can be seen as pretty snarky. But thanking Nate for coming back when he no doubt had other options -- even if the NBA draft wasn't one of them -- isn't really a dig at Tony IMHO.

RE: Perspective
I have been lurking around for a while and wanted to point a few things out.
-If not making the NCAA tourney is the goal, then why have a Basketball program? I think NJguy (or whatever) said the program shouldn't be judged by that, Really? So if your an account manager and garner a bunch of small accounts but miss the big one that could define you and could make you and your company tons of $$, it's ok, you shouldn't be defined by that? It is all about winning the conference and making the tournament, that is it, end of the book put it down.
-If I'm playing poker, and someone has to leave and hands me a hand that is a straight, I should by logic, come very close if not win the hand.
-There are two hoops programs at WM, one is guided by an experienced, well-respected coach, who has NCAA tourney bids on his resume, the other is not. Guess which one has a sky-high trajectory and which one doesn't?

I personally don’t think that they’re shots at Tony, but I believe if Tribal never said anything about it, those tweets she tweeted would’ve never happened.
She definitely reads these boards.

We all read things differently. I read it as,
"Nate, you trusted and believed in me when I met with you and told you Shaver wasn't good for us. I know best and now look at your accolades! You've validated my decision. It'sthe core values."
"Dane, I knew you're the one for us because you, not Tony, have core values. We needed those core values and look at what you did...CoY! You see, I was correct when so many others doubted me and now they're aaalllllll coming around!"

RE: Perspective
Ultimately, she is in charge. At more successful programs, the coach has more power than the AD. Not here. She has the gold and she makes the rules. But, no colleges have a stadium named after their AD(maybe somewhere actually does?). Usually, it is after a former or current coach like the Laycock Center. Maybe W&M will be the first one. Hopefully, our AD will continue to learn on the job and eventually tolerate both alums and current students. Some of us are easier to tolerate than others. But, W&M was never a place where everyone agreed on every point, and that was ok. I vehemently disagree with ZableNoise on last March, but that is totally ok. It is not going to be an echo chamber ever at W&M. Coach Shaver and staff were good for W&M. Even though I wish he coached this year, Taylor Reveley gave him a contract that showed appreciation for his contributions to W&M.
I just hope that eventually the focus will be on the student athletes and the current students. When you are at W&M, it is a special time. The professors, coaches, employees and administrators provide a critical part of the education and experience as do the other students. Once it is over, our gold and our green become the major benefit to the school. W&M does a great job of seeking that revenue which hopefully improves the experience for the current students. I will be pulling for Coach Fischer, Coach London, Coach Murphy and Coach Swanson and others going forward. While I will always have disagreement with some of the choices Samantha Huge has made, I absolutely want her to be successful as our AD. Ultimately, that would be good for the college and its students. Being angry hasn't really helped, but being away did.

For sure. I would love for her to tweet about a CAA tournament victory for Coach Swanson and the Tribe. There are definitely some things we all agree on. I am going to try and focus more on that going forward. It isn't easy though.

Nope.
1. Dig at Tony
2. Crowed about how she knew better
3. Takes the credit for affording pathway to the accolades.
4. Takes no credit for one and done in the CAAT.

At least that gif makes sense. Progress.
Feel free to add something, like justify why we paid Tony over a million bucks in exchange for a bandaid backcourt, a weak freshman class, and getting bounced as quickly as possible from the CAAT.

Methinks her "core values" may be different from many of us on this Board ... or anyone else with a functional frontal lobe and a healthy dose of humility...

That 21 win season must have hurt. And spare me the outrage. The Kool-Aid Brigade thought that particular line of thinking was the height of comedy back before being critical was cool.
Huge saw diminishing returns in the program and made a change. Dane did a good job in year 1. He's got more work to do and probably needs a year. You were fine with giving Shaver a pass after he cranked out 3 losing seasons following the 2009-10 NIT bid, so it shouldn't be that hard. No other team has snapped up Shaver yet. You've made it clear how you feel about the situation. You used to tell me to move on all the time.

A hypothetical:
Huge: "W&M mbb 2nite! GL Coach Fischer!"
Tribal reads: "There would be no game tonight if I didn't fire Tony Shaver."

21 wins is great, even in a down year for the CAA. Thank goodness Nate hit those last second shots or you'd be struggling to find a bright spot in the season. Didn't hurt me, at all, because I love W&M through good or bad. I mean, I attend games and it's not like I live 20 minutes away but refuse to go like some people.
Shaver is enjoying 3 years of paid leave. Time better spent playing with his grandkids, golfing, and giving the middle finger to the administration that fired him. Smart play.
Samantha set a goal of winning 3 CAA titles from FB, MBB, and WBB within 3 years. 0-2 so far. I wonder if she'll get the Shaver treatment if she doesn't achieve that goal. But...but...

I guess Tony will eventually become like our old Feathers in a few more years. Still worth nostalgic conversation but long gone and not coming back to W&M.

No one has gained much in putting the other side down. Ignoring the good things he did just makes the discontent louder. If you could go back and watch Tribe games under Chuck Swenson or Rick Boyages, you would appreciate Tony more. Hopefully, we will all choose to appreciate Dane now.
It is unfortunate. It will be better for the college when they can welcome Tony back in some capacity(or at least honor him). I don't expect it to happen under the current leadership, but it would be better for all parties if it did. As for the feathers, it seems like they could be reinstated. Our mascot has feathers I believe.
Our basketball program is like a superhero with a secret identity. Nobody knows who we are.
