The Ohio governor asked today that indoor sporting events in that state go on without fans. So the MAC just announced its men's and women's basketball conference tournaments (in Cleveland) won't have the majority of its fans anymore. They're going to be played with restricted attendance only.

As part of the restricted attendance policy, only "credentialed institutional personnel, student-athlete family members, credentialed media, television and radio crews, and official team party members will be permitted for attendance for the tournaments."

The NHL team in Columbus said we don't care what you say Governor, we're still playing our games in front of fans.

It remains to be seen what happens with the NCAA games scheduled for Ohio. There are probably other games coming which will now be played without fans.

I'm just ready to see who the first dumb politician will be that "demands" Americans not attend the March Madness NCAA men's BB Tournament, and NCAA Final Four. HAHA! Talk about controversy. Democrats just love to tell people what they can and can't do anyway....so this will be fun to watch! LOL!

Well hopefully we can avoid politics (there are other places for that).

IMO this is an OVERREACTION. Ridiculous.

Seems like they may be missing an opportunity to educate a mass of people how to avoid catching the virus. Get them inside and show a small video on what to do and not do, before each session.

They are trying to prevent what is happening in Italy. They have over 10k cases in just over 2 months and the fatality rate is at 6% overall and is even higher for people over the age of 80. In addition 16% of those that catch it wind up in acute/critical condition.

I won't stray into the world of politics, but I would also like to remind HogDawg that the final four is in Atlanta, and the governor of GA is also a republican. So really, the people who have authority to "demand" Americans not attend would have to come from the republican side of the aisle, despite the jab at the democrats by Mr. Dawg.

Hopefully it won't come down to that. Imagine being a fan of team that has very few chances at making the final four, you get there, and you aren't allowed to attend? That would really suck.
