RE: College Football News:UAB Football Schedule 2020 Prediction, Breakdown, Analysis
2020 preseason ranking of the UAB football schedule from the hardest-looking games to the easiest.
1. Sept. 17 at Miami
2. Oct. 31 at Louisiana Tech
3. Oct. 17 WKU
4. Nov. 28 Southern Miss
5. Nov. 14 North Texas
6. Oct. 10 at Rice
7. Nov. 7 at Old Dominion
8. Sept. 26 at South Alabama
9. Nov. 21 at UTEP
10. Oct. 3 UTSA
11. Sept. 3 New Mexico State
12. Sept. 12 Alabama A&M
best 10-2/ worst 6-6
Best case has us losing to Miami and 1 more "WTH" loss game.
They keep complaining about a weak schedule, but hey it's the conference we're in.
AND I LOVE IT!!!

I do wonder about LaT game - they're still mad from the last 2-3yrs. USM may be for the division marbles and/or home game for championship again for us. I hope we have got all the WTF losses out of our system.

Can probably put AAMU at 8
Probably going to be the easiest schedule in college football again.
8-9 wins again. Still believe he should’ve made some coaching changes in the off-season.

It's hard to make changes when the program has been as successful as it is. How do you bring in new coaches if you say getting to the conference championship isn't a guarantee you'll have a job next season? I'm not saying you are wrong, as many of us would've liked to see a major shakeup in some areas, but that is something we have to consider. It's not like there is a $1M salary waiting for the replacement if we make that decision.

I don't like the short week before the Miami game. Maybe we can put in some of the game plan during the 9 days between NMSU & AAM.

We better plan for Miami dont want the excuses from tbe Tennessee game last year.
Looks like we wont get national media support with these soft schedules
Ready for two money games
10 wins the bar again.

For everyone saying soft schedule, are you referring to the OOC or in-conference. Seeing that we can't control who we play in-conference, it is what it is on that point.

Soft schedule reference isn’t a complaint but rather a point of no excuses to not heavily pad the win column. We hold basketball to same standard.

Both only speaking for myself.
FAU and southern miss really handled us last year inconference still have them as the better teams.
League office does the selection but we haven't played FAU, FIU, and Marshall regular season. Quite honestly im afraid of the next draw seeing its two out of those three. Unless we go 9 conference games next year then we get maybe all three.
OOC is self explanatory. Hope we didnt scrap two money games thinking we grow a fan base with all the MAC Belt games.
Couldnt really schedule two money games until 2022 or 2023.

There really isn't a benefit to playing to money games. What is it you are wanting out of playing two money games?
If we went from the current philosophy to two money games, I'd prefer we play a bottom feeder P5 team in addition to whatever we currently play. That makes the home and home games OOC go out the window though, and we'd have some year with only five games. I don't see a huge benefit to it unless we got to a UCF/Boise level and those games could push us into contention for something bigger than we've ever seen before.

The expectation should be 10-2. Loss at Miami and giving away one we shouldn't. Other than that we really should win 10 games and 11-1 wouldn't be a stretch.

Money for the program, exposure, and a better overall competition for the players. Doubt we crack the top 25 with these types of schedules. Also Brown,Callaway, and McGee had to endure it. Didnt say we should schedule Clemson and Ohio state same season. Also clark still doesnt have that sig win outside of 2018 post season.

If we can get a P5 team to schedule a home and home with us (lol), then sure play 2 P5 teams. But playing 2 P5 money games makes it look like we’re in need of money/suggests we’re a small time program. That said, we could schedule home and homes with better G5 teams, i.e. Appy, Boise, Memphis, etc. or even a tier below that. I realize it takes two to tango, but surely there’s another G5 school looking to schedule a good series. Really the only OOC opponent I’ve gotten excited about since the return (other than the P5 games) is Tulane. USA, Akron, Coastal (I know, they beat us), yawn. I do like we have GA Southern on the schedule in a couple years, that’s a step in the right direction for sure.

It isn't crazy to think we could go undefeated in the regular season with this schedule. We should be better than last year, and Miami is not a super daunting foe. That being said, we have not played well in money games under Clark, and I am not predicting us to go undefeated. Just saying it's within the realm of reasonable possibility. We should expect 10 wins with this schedule, the returning players, the level of success the past few years, etc.

The better P5 programs of today often pay out over $1.5 million for a home game. How many G5 programs can (or will) do that and still want to play a return game? Ole Miss bought out its return game with UAB a few years ago, so getting a team to agree to H&H contracts is only half the battle. How many major southern P5 teams have played a southern G5 team H&H? USM has played Bama about 50 times in my lifetime and never in Hattiesburg.

The first thing that everyone thinks of about Miami is the horrible bowl loss, but they have a ton of talent on that team. They also added D'Eric King at QB, the kid from Houston. Miami is maybe a little more daunting than they're getting credit for here. This game sets us up to poop the bed on ESPN, because that last thing college football fans in general remember about Miami is that they got pantsed by LaTech in the Independance Bowl. If we win, we shoulda, and if we lose we lost to "that team".
We need to kick hell out of them. I'm kinda glad we're catching them early.

I’m definitely not thinking that they are a pushover... just that with this team this is the type of buy game we actually have a realistic shot to win. That being said, Clark’s teams have not done well at all in these games. Time for us to actually show up in a game on the national stage..
