Man who'd of thunk it.

Yeah---good league---but too much beating one another up. I thought we'd have 3-5. Be lucky to get 2 in at this point.

It may still be as many as 3 or 4:

According to http://bracketmatrix.com/

Houston #7 seed
Wichita #9 seed
Cincy #11 seed
Memphis First Four Out (first team out)

Freshman Tristen Newton had 23 points the last game and is averaging

15 ppg
5.3 rpg
4.2 apg
1.3 spg
1.6 turnover per game

his last 6 games and is over a 20 PER in conference play and leads the AAC in assist to turnover ratio for the season. Dooley finally realized he was one of our obvious best 3 players and started starting him again 5 games ago.

He's taken a real step forward in conference play, and especially in the last 5-6 games. He's established himself as far and away the teams best 3 point shooter, shooting 38.5% in conference play. I'm not sure if he was too worried about making mistakes early on but he's been far more aggressive in recent weeks. If he can establish himself as a consistently reliable #2 option behind Gardner there is a lot of reason for optimism. Gonna be very interesting to see how much Dooley turns over the roster this off season. On the one hand you can obviously point to several of the JUCO's as just complete busts, but chemistry and locker room dynamics do matter and can't be quantified by any stat or metric. You also don't want to get a reputation for just constantly showing guys the door. I think you have to move on from at least 1 of the JUCO 7 footers, with Quansah coming in it just makes zero sense to have 4 roster spots occupied on 7 footers who can not play together. You also have to factor in who can you land and with the strength and depth of next years in state HS class I think you want at least 3 scholarships available in the fall.

Surprisingly WSU only dropped 7 spots to 50. So very bubbly right now but can still right the ship and get in IMO.

UCONN lost by like 35 at Louisville a month before winning the 2014 Natty. Sometimes these WTF games happen. Lots of time to right it.

Marshall's worst loss in his 13 year tenure. Definitely uncharacteristic of a Marshall coached team. He's said there's something going on internally with the players that he can't get through to them.

There is no shame in losing at Houston, the top team in the American Athletic Conference. But Sunday seemed to bring out the worst in the Shockers: from poor body language to porous shooting to lack of competitive spirit.
All of those things frustrated Marshall, but not as much as the fact that he couldn’t get an answer from his players following the performance."

I'm actually shocked we didn't move at least back to 69. Figured 65 was our floor after a win against a top 50 team.

Happy to see Cincy didn't drop at all though

When you get benched after starting the season, have inconsistent minutes and are looking over your shoulder worried to make a mistake and get pulled I think that obviously plays into aggressiveness.

Season PER ranks in the AAC

#1 Gardner So
#32 Suggs Fr
#40 Newton Fr

http://insider.espn.com/mens-college-bas...s?group=62

Keeping these 3 players happy is only priority at this point. We just benched Suggs again for JJ Miles last game. I'm sure he loves that or playing 23 minutes a game. Hopefully he doesn't get pissed and transfer and Newton forgets his stint in Dooley wilderness.

My favorite ecu homer.. so I'm taking it you are guaranting a team in the 70s with a cut off line at 75 is guaranteed to still be Q1 at the end of the year?

Your contribution to any conversation I've ever seen you in is just being sensitive or angry...mostly on the wrong side of conversations

ECU fans are my favorite angry mob....

me earlier in the season: your freshmen look very good way better than expected...but none of the juco are living up to the expectations they had preseason

ecu fans: viciously attacks me non stop, and brings it up to attack me constantly for weeks

ecu fans today: in atleast 4 posts by 3 different ecu fans (including some who attacked me) "our freshman are great, but our juco have been a disappointment"

I'd really save some time and stop checking Jerry Palm's bracketology. He's ranked 85th out of 130 on a 5 year rolling average basis and finished outside the Top 100 last year.

If we did an NCAA tournament of bracketologists, Jerry Palm wouldn't even be on the page.

But if you want to keep thinking we are 10 spots outside the tourney as of today, no one can stop you.

Interesting, so the #1, five-year average ranked bracketologist, Bracketville, still has Memphis and Cincy in the "First 4 Out" at 70 and 71, and WSU in "Last 4 In" at 66, if I'm reading that correctly.
