I can think of $12,000,000 reasons.

Houston's had a roooooough week. Astros getting hammered by MLB, Texans losing a 21-0 lead, and now this. Their fans on the message board are not taking it well. They're in for a rough ride with Holgerson.

Will King be able to play next year ?

Why people root for unfortunate situations that can happen to any one of us is beyond me. I don't get it. Aside from him doing what's best for him there's just no reason to wish for bad things to happen to others. I harbor no ill will towards anyone short of murderer's, rapist's and thieves. I get it though guess. I doubt that anyone here wishes bad things on opposing teams on a personal level.

In general yes, but we don't have to cheer for every single member. At some point the Big12 is going to look at expanding. When they do, a key element will be Houston sucking, and being run like a Mickey Mouse operation with a restaurateur as their de facto president/athletic director.
IF Houston sucked and Cincinnati was good the last time expansion was discussed, it might have tipped the scales the other way. Nobody in the Big12 wanted Houston, including the Texas schools, but not voting them in would have been a huge mess politically. Now, not quite as much.

When you have a head coach tank a season on all of his players who have worked so hard for the present, well it is unusual. He got what he deserved in this instance.

I think it is quite possible he could be dismissed out right. If he knew about this and lied to the school, then I think they can dismiss him outright and tell him to pound sand over his money.

This new transfer rule has the potential to ruin the G5 programs.

The odds for King start with LSU (+250), followed by Arkansas (+300), Miami (+500), Oregon (+600), Florida State (+800), Michigan State (+1500) and Oklahoma (+2000).
King has a relationship with Kendall Briles is why ARK is up there.

Yep, a G5 team has a great year and you are almost guaranteed to lose your coach. Now, some P5 has a hole to fill, and there goes your best player(s) too. I don't know why we continue to stand idly by while the P5 takes everything we have.

Maybe so. But that affects the rest of those young men too so... I do get poetic justice though.

Realizing that your coach is a POS is a harsh lesson, but if it means that one class goes 4-8 instead of 6-6 and it kills future recruiting, it is part of a greater good.

If the B12 expands Houston will get in. They are in the perfect location, they can win in basketball and football, and their market is perfect for the B12. Them sucking for 3 or 4 years will not matter because they’ve proven they can win like we have.
Houston being good is important for our conference and our team. A win against a good Houston team looks like a better than against a crappy Houston team. We don’t want them to suck.
Funny how people on this board get pissed at other fans making fun of our misfortunes but are the first to jump on someone else’s misfortunes.
