MyBB 2020 Basketball Recruiting Report
I'm curious about how each teams recruiting for 2020 is going. Some teams, like Cincy and Houston, look like they're either done or close to being done. I haven't heard anything about several schools though.

Who are your teams targeting that is a realistic prospect?

RE: 2020 Basketball Recruiting Report
I think Temple is done other than a transfer, preferably a big man. We need to replace Hamilton and Damion Moore badly. Forrester is a great addition, but he's a 220 lb. PF, not a C.

RE: 2020 Basketball Recruiting Report
houston is done, has been done for months

cincy not close to be being done.. 2 open schollys as is ..2 more are likely to open (harvey and prince are both likely to transfer)

other noteables ...smu is done barring an unforseen departure dont intend to bring anyone in..usf likely done ..tulane is done with freshman, wants to target grad transfers after the season...wichita likely done if jadun michael reclassifies and no unexpected transfers

not counting uconn...memphis is the only one actively tied to any major uncommitted elite recruit..but memphis isnt the favorite for any as of today

What makes you think Harvey is looking to transfer? Both Cumberlands graduate this year, he could be a starter next season.

No one knows what's up with Prince and if he'll be able to play next year or not.

Thanks for the response. I thought Houston was done, and JaDun is expected to reclassify to 2020. A lot of unknowns with other teams, at least from the outside looking in. There's only so much you can infer from recruiting sites and the current number of seniors on a team's roster.

No one knows what's up with Prince and if he'll be able to play next year or not.

he is a top 50 recruit who is the 12th player of the bench at UC...legitimately only the walkons get less minutes than him..and his minutes have been decreasing as the season is going ...there are 2 3star freshman getting way more minutes than him

and what makes you so sure he starts?

Mika, KW2, VOGT are locks to start next year...from returning players alone davenport and diarra would start before him..were arent even getting into the 3 touted freshman you have committed...and whoever the 2 unused ships will be used on

he is the ONLY top 200 recruit in the aac to have zero impact on his team and getting no minutes out of the 17 or so..ignoring he is the 3rd highest rated..and playing on 8-6 team (you cant say stacked team), with other unranked freshmen getting more minuted than him

let me ask you the same question with that added context.. assume you arent a UC fan ..what makes you think harvey would not want to transfer?

his rankings will likely allow him to land at any non-blue blood high major, even with his past a wake forest/gtech level team will take a flyer on him

He hasn't played a lot because he's super rusty. He didn't play basketball for a year before coming to UC. He's not only had to work to get in shape but also get back in the groove of playing bball while also adjusting to college, new coaches, new schemes, new team. He's had the roughest journey of all the recruits and maybe of all the players coming into this season. How about you stop making stuff up and assuming. You can say he transferring when actually transfers.

Why would in the world would Prince transfer? He doesn't even know yet if he will be able to play basketball again. He just got a cardiac stress test done. He's hopeful that he can get back to playing ball.

RE: 2020 Basketball Recruiting Report
Barring transfers Tulsa is only losing two players next season Lawson Korita and Martins Igbanu. We’ve signed Keyshawn Williams a guard out of the Chicago area and are looking to sign a big in the spring. We have three players sitting out transfers this season.

Has Haith ever had a full roster of players available to play in a game? Seems we always have at least 2 sitting out for transfer.

for prince if he isnt completely healthy, he'll be put on a medical scholarship...if he really is healthy he might get laquill'd (urged to transfer with a letter confirming he was pushed out for immediate edibility)..he could end up staying..but i doubt brannen wants to use 3 years on a scholly on him..

as far as Harvey
im familiar with most recruits in the aac...
--Uconn-Jalen Gaffney was coming in injured as well and unlike harvey injury lasted into the season..already playing more minutes
--memphis - Malcolm Dandridge was injured missed most of last year and half of this season...he is already getting big minutes
-- temple Damien dunn had a bad off-season injury-- his 1 game cleared so far he played more minutes than Harvey

--not a freshmen but technically a recruit...ecu's had a juco player not play basketball at all last year to save a year of eligibility, he then had an offseason injury almost immediately getting on campus, missed 5 games ..he is already a starter

if we are talking physical he did not have the most difficult journey or even close...he was medically cleared before preseason camp

to add two final points-- if he was recovering or getting in shape his minutes would have been low and slowly increased.. his minutes were high and drastically decreasing

--also watch his demeanor on the bench...his heart isnt in it..

also no one said he is definitely 100% transferring just that he is likely to transfer in a thread about recruiting and ships available..
precious hasn't declared for the NBA draft..when discussing memphis for next year we should just assume that he is coming back??? when talking memphis

if he stays, great for UC..i just noted that i dont see it as likely..anyone not being blinded would guess the same

UCF has 2 high 3 star forwards out of hs for the class of 2020, I’d assume Dawkins is holding a couple spots for transfers as well.

ECU is technically full but they are gonna send at least a few of the JUCO busts packing. I suspect they add anywhere from 1-4 more players aside from our 1 signing in the fall.

Memphis is in the hunt for elite prospects, but their decisions will likely not be known for a few months. Meanwhile, it is nail biting time.

Harvey is a good player, but the timing is not right. His mom has put out some tweets that many would interpret as dissatisfaction. At the end of the day, Harvey came with some baggage and Brannen has taken a chance on him. In all likelihood, he is a starter next year based on his natural ability. He can either grow on next years young team or he can start over in another location. He would not be the highest rated recruit to transfer out.

SMU is currently full but has sent out some offers. I suspect/hope we run off at least 1 or 2 of our non-contributors.
