We brought a few thousand, which isn't great by our standards, but it would have only taken a 15-passenger van full to outdo BC.

Is it just me, or does Luke Fickell kind of remind you of Big John McCarthy in the UFC, like he could be his slimmer younger brother or something?

Needs to be said...that team was .500 in the ACC and 7 points away from being the second best team in their conference.

Great job. It seemed like one of the things people used to hold against the big east was bowl attendance figures. It seems that our fans are traveling well compared to the opposing teams fans . Good job guys.

Congrats Cincy! This guarantees at least 3 AAC teams in the final poll, with a possible UCF 4th team.

Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College... All three were known for extremely weak traveling fan bases in the old BE. The Gator Bowl and Orange Bowls in particular was public about trying to ditch their ties with the BE.
The irony is that Pitt, 'Cuse, and BC all got invited to the ACC...but I don't think they travel any better than they used to.

Well they wont go again to a big bowl now that they aren't in the big east circle jerk. We took that from them.

They weren't going to a big bowl back then either. The best teams in the Big East from 2005-2012 by far were West Virginia, UC and Louisville.

Round that back to 2011 (since WVU didn't play in the Big East in 2012), and there are some interesting things if you add up total wins (or even conference wins). You're right that WVU was tops (37 Big East wins, 70 total wins) and Cincinnati was second (30 Big East wins, 59 total wins). Without looking it up, can you guess who was #3? (and no, this isn't a veiled USF thing - we were 21 Big East, 53 total wins). Here's a hint - Louisville wasn't third in either Big East wins or total wins (categories held by two different teams).
Oh, and bringing up the rear by a long shot during that time frame was Syracuse with 9 Big East wins and 27 total wins. Lest anybody think that football success was the primary driver of expansion/realignment...

Regarding your last sentence, there is a vast difference between the BigX adding teams, and US adding teams. I'm sure that was not your intended implication, but I thought it bared pointing out.
