Yeah. I had no feelings one way or the other on this, but after I saw a video of him doing the tomahawk chop at an FSU basketball game, I'm of the opinion that he shouldn't stick around for the bowl game.
Don't get me wrong, I don't wish him failure at FSU, but I won't lose sleep if he flames out and they fire him in 2 years.
Yeah...
That makes you wonder how genuine he was when he talked about Memphis or if it was all a show.
Lol. What is he supposed to do? I realize it’s just been a few days, but he’s the Florida State coach now. Might as well go ahead and embrace the tomahawk chop. At least part of his 22MM is to be a rah, rah guy.

Big test for Coach Silverfield. We will see if he's able to keep us on a upward trajectory. In other news, FSU fans are upset that Mike Norvell offered a scholarship to a 3* player. Talk about entitlement. He will be out in 3 years because they are insane.

Norvell genuinely liked Memphis and enjoyed his time here. There was nothing fake about that. Again, a major reason why he turned down other P5 jobs in prior years. He genuinely liked it here, had a good thing going and was only willing to leave for a job that he felt truly gave him a chance for a NC.

True, to come on December 28th just to coach the team would do more harm than anything in my opinion. Also has a kind of creepy feel to it --- like asking your old girlfriend to spend the night after she's made it clear she has a new boyfriend. :)
That's totally different. I wouldn't ask, but if she suggested it, I would still bang her.

I understand. I really do. But, I just don't care whether he succeeds or fails at FSU. Whatever.
Thanks Coach for all you did-- we love you and best of luck.
But it is now time for us to move on, CLIMB, and respond -- we have a Cotton Bowl to win.. Good luck in the Tony the Tiger or something like that Bowl.

Than after the pity sex we start the loud belly heaving crying and begging her to stay. When that fails, stalk the hell out of her. Works every time.

I hope he nudges some 3* and 4* that they don't have room for towards us. Or at least turns our staff on to some he runs across.

If the X you just left had won tickets for a 7 day top of the line trip to (Insert your perfect locale here) knowing your new guys is broke as hell (But has tons of potential) and you know you the new guy won't be able to afford that trip for a couple of years.
Norvell could be a at least few years (if ever) before he gets a chance at another bowl with this level of prestige.

I want him to succeed and wish him well. He did a great job here and took our program as far as it could go in the G5. If he fails at FSU, it doesn’t reflect anything positive about our program or conference. If you were in his shoes and had the opportunity to coach a top-tier P5 program with a great recruiting base and an opportunity to compete for a NC, are you saying you would stay? Unless we can find an ex-Memphis player who turns out to be a great coach, you should expect this to be the norm.

He wanted to build a good program at Memphis and I’m sure he wants to at FSU. Look at it this way - I try hard in my job and want to work with others around me to both be successful myself and help others also be successful. However, although I’m successful and well-liked where I am, I’m open to other career opportunities where I can advance even more. It is Norvell’s coaching career, you know, not someone else’s.

I don’t need to take and consider second and third hand information... I know for a fact how he felt about the city and university.
