There are hardly any fans over there and wanted outsider perspectives as well.

How are you liking these responses so far?

I'm enlightened. We need to move the main campus to the coast, pressure wash The Rock with our $75k pressure washer, hire a new president and head coach, re-brand (Biloxi Bombers..we could steal the naming rights or maybe Gulfport Guppies) and put out mafia hits on the current IHL members. Did I miss anything?

Word is that when we went to hire a new President, every Southern Miss person part of the search was against Bennett, but the IHL hired him against USM wishes because he was a ‘yes man’ that would do as told by them and be a diversity selection to make MS look like it was progressive. At least, this is what I’ve heard from people close to the situation.

IHL hurts Southern Miss every chance it can.

The weird thing is .. we've got more graduates on the board from USM than we've ever had, the problem is that a couple of them are multi-school graduates (one degree from Ole Piss, one from USM, and we know where their loyalites lie). (and one board member who didnt' graduate from ANY Mississippi school)

But for some damn reason *Cough*President Parker*cough* we continue to get the short end of the stick when it comes to the IHL.

I'm sorry didn't realize that Charlotte was a powerhouse.. Tell me oh great powerhouse how did we get so lucky to invite you into our humble conference?

Your AD way back in 1991 was smart enough to recognize our potential in basketball alone to join the other Metro Conference AD's in inviting us to that conference.

And the rest is history.
So let me get this straight.. USM should step back to SBC while Charlotte does what exactly?

I'm fine with being
in a conference with Southern Miss. Some of your fans are the ones that want to be anywhere else but here. 07-coffee3

I would prefer a different conference. Should’ve been there already but only the Good Lord and our administration knows why we’re not. But we’re here might as well make the best of it. Just need competent people leading us.

Haha, living in Louisiana that might be an improvement for you all but you'd get the same treatment we would they'd give you just enough to keep you alive but weak and hungry.

Is there any possibility of this changing in the future? It really is incredible the difference a few years of an independent decision making BOT has made for UM programs/rankings vs. the stagnation of red tape/obstacles from decades of a shared BOT. I’m sure MTSU has experienced similar growth.

.

You should join the Southern Conference. You have be in the top half as far as budget and facilities. You would be able to compete for a playoff spot and feel relevant again.

We all think our schools should be in "better" conferences. I find it interesting that some folks now just want to move laterally at best.

Really what CUSA and the Sunbelt should so is trade a few schools between the two entities and become two closely associated but compact conferences. That would help create regional rivalries and give us a little bit of strength in negotiations with TV.

Other than App the belt sucks, I know we were there for years and want absolutely nothing to do with it.

clt recommends changing colors and team name as well. Maybe something teal and nautical themed.

Well in our glory we were competing well with Louisville so when they left it’d been nice to go with them. But USM is its own worst enemy. But you and your little Florida school will go back to being the bottom feeders you were when Daniel Tosh’s twin leaves for Ole Miss.

You do realize that the "little Florida school" is bigger, richer, higher-ranked academically than yours, right?

Are we going to go back to "bottom feeders"? Who knows. If we do, you know who we're going to meet there? Your school.

I always wondered who would take ECU's place as the biggest chest pounders.. Now I know. Thanks FAU.

What's funnier is I voiced my opinion and the powerhouse of FAU and their fans are getting all pissy...
