Yep.

No word on whether it's Ark State or Georgia State that go to Arizona, but all signs point to Southern in Orlando.

What's the word about where Liberty is going? I think Liberty would give Southern a great shot at a win but that would certainly remove some of the luster from the game as a casual observer.

The Cure Bowl director was at their game over the weekend and did an interview. Seems like unless an AAC team picks the Cure then Liberty is in.

They are 7-5 with two FCS wins. I take it that qualifies them with 6 wins toward eligibility? At this point, I'd guess a Bowl game is something Southern fans didn't envision with the way the season started so they will take it, but it'd be ideal for Liberty not to become synonymous with what will become one of the higher profile bowl games for the Sun Belt once it moves to ESPN.

Some of us didn't freak out and knew we would be OK. Some....well they think the world is coming to an end at the first loss.

I had us at 7-5 before the season started, and the only ones I missed were that I thought we would have lost to Appy and would have beat stAte. I'm glad I was wrong about the Appy game! 04-cheers

Unless App or Boise goes to the Access Bowl, the AAC literally has to invite Liberty to the Cure Bowl. They have 7 eligible teams and 7 bowl slots, if Memphis or Cincy make the Access Bowl, then that empty slot in the AAC has to go to Liberty for the Cure Bowl based on their agreement.

AAC teams get to pick their bowl in order. Someone might pick Cure over some of the others. Not 100% certain that Liberty is Cure bound.

The deal is specifically for the Cure Bowl.

As I've said before.

GNOSF will NOT do a deal out of the goodness of their heart because they got burnt badly by CUSA trying to be helpful. If ESPN waves the fairy dust they mine by holding Tinkerbell in captivity on the deal, it'll happen but if it happens its ESPN initiated.

AAC doesn't have to short the Cure. They can short ServPro First Responders.

Depending on how this weekend goes, you may have cost your athletic department money.

Congratulations!

Six more spots to fill next year. Companies owning lots of bowls to fill need warm bodies for them bowls. Think NMSU signed with Arizona

I'll echo those sentiments. It's pretty obvious Southern fans and players want to go to Orlando, but it really all hinges on what the Camellia Bowl wants to do since they pick ahead of Cure.

NMSU has a slot with one bowl while Liberty appears to have a deal specifically with ESPN Events. Clearly one programs value over the other is showing. Would like to see their P/L analysis on Liberty to see where they perceive Liberty will end up.

According to Big Frank, Camellia isn't too keen on taking the same team twice in a row even though they did so in 2015/16 with App. He also said that Arizona is not in play for Southern.

I believe it was Ty Philips that said post game that the players want the Cure Bowl, and the word is that the interest between Southern and the bowl is very high and mutual. Their director was at the game Saturday as well.
