Exclamation CUSA Regular Season Awards
Who do you have for them?

I think Asher O’Hara is either the MVP or Offensive Player of the year. QB from LA Tech had a good year too. Brendan Knox in the convo.

Chris Robison was good, but I think his situation off the field will prevent him from recognition. (No offense anyone)

Alex Highsmith is DPOY, and I’m not sure there’s much competition. Dotson from FAU had a great year in the secondary.

Helton is COY in my opinion. I think Bill Clark has done a fantastic job too FWIW.

Thoughts?

Blaze Alldredge (Rice) was the only player to record over 15 tackles-for-loss AND over 90 total tackles. (21.5/102).

That 21.5 led the league in TFL.

He’s got my vote!

Highsmith's performance vs ODU certainly has him firmly in the conversation. I'd give it to him

RE: CUSA Regular Season Awards
Harrison Bryant has to figure somewhere, I am not sure where. He is one of the top tight ends in the whole country. Sure, Miko Dotson sounds nice with his 8 INTs but he's a nickel/dime back, so he is more of a specialist in opponents' passing situation. Marshall's interior defense was extremely strong, as well.

I hadn't followed the West well enough to have an opinion beyond reciting stats.

Didn't win enough games. Small chance at offensive POY but no chance at MVP. Not his fault the defense sucked, but still a QB is measured by wins and losses first and foremost. He will probably get some extra votes just because of his highlight reel.

J'Mar Smith wins won of those (maybe both). Robison will still get some votes as will Reynolds.

Healy also in running for COY.

He tied Alldredge for the league lead in TFL yesterday, by the way

How does J'Mar get an award when his selfish behavior probably cost LaTech at least the west division? Should be more than about numbers.

No doubt Highsmith is a stud but there are other to consider. Like Alldredge (Rice), Dotson (FAU), Beckett (Marshall), Malone (WKU), and Robertson (LaTech).
