It’s honestly a shame we can’t play all these overrated AAC teams in one season

Yeah the powerful sunbelt and can’t even win those games. You beat some terrible teams, go back to your trailer park where you belong.

Muschamp will have run two SEC schools into the ground when all is said and done.

The AAC is no cake walk and last thing this league needs is another nose dive of a program... cough... uconn... cough.

Flavor of the months programs aren't the answer.

I don’t want App State because it would ruin our recruiting edge over them, but they’ve been good through multiple head coaches. Yeah, mostly at the FCS level, but even then they were beating FBS teams from time to time. They will be good more often than not.

Well it is kind of where it is now when he took over at South Carolina. He has had trouble building offenses at both locations, can’t seem to find the right OC fit for his teams.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't App St. upset #3 Michigan @ Michigan back in opening weekend in 2007? I don't think I saw another smaller conference team with a bigger upset back then in the BCS days. Not sure what giants they've slayed since then, but they they seem to always be in the news knocking on the door recently.

Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier couldn't make that yardbird school a power. App been playing good football a long time.

Spurrier had a good run of 3 straight 11-2 seasons.

And ended up quitting mid season.

I respect the AAC and think it’s the best G5 conference. But honestly I think we’d be in roughly the same position. Give us a couple extra million a year and access to slightly better recruits? Game over.

The sunbelt desperately needs a rebrand. Most of the putrid teams left for CUSA, and the football is pretty good now, but we’re still stuck with the reputation F_U and north Texas left behind.

Geez, has that much time passed? When we said the 20's growing up, it meant zoot suits and prohibition.

(Technically #5) How could anyone forget that game? That, more than anything, put them on the map and they're still seeing residual benefits from that game.

Right. Let me know again which powerhouse your top ranked team Cincinnati beat?

Oh that’s right, a trash UCLA team and a 3 loss UCF. AAC resume is no better than App’s.

Can't disagree with this. App has a good program, have had for a lot of years now. But I wouldn't want you in the AAC simply because of the direct competition with ECU for NC recruits. I view App as kind of in the Southern Miss mold. Good solid program but in a region that doesn't do the AAC any good to grow the brand further. Frankly we are an outlier and in that mold somewhat too. But we have a rabid, big fanbase, and deliver really good TV numbers in NC and Tidewater when we're good. Kind of offsets the fact we're in podunk NC.

This is actually huge for one of us.

South Carolina won't be bowl eligible this year - they have 6 losses already and Clemson awaits at the end.

So that will open up a door to another bowl game.

So thanks, ASU, and congrats to being back in the top-25.
