RE: Future Schedules
I don't see a reason to want to play @Minnesota with Fleck there unless we could beat him, which I'm not seeing in the near future.

I like slow-cooked-dry-rubbed ribs, blues music, and football in that order.

Throw in some black eyed peas, collards, electric Lightin' Hopkins and I'm in.

RE: Future Schedules
Go where the money is. This WMU president wants MSU, UM and ND on future schedules. He also wants top G5's for a path back to New Years game. You can't play on New Years day beating Delaware State, Wagner and Norfolk St every year. I'd like to see a home and home with UCF. UCF will rebound to top of G5 again, they are dealing with freshman QB issues. P5's and top AAC teams get you national TV exposure thru out the season, not just thru MAC action craziness in November.

This president wants us back to a NY6? I haven't seen much evidence of that yet.

What evidence dd you see from Dunn? I'm not doubting he wanted us to make NY6 bowls, but I don't remember seeing anything specific from him.

RE: Future Schedules
The year we made it to the NY6 was through a rather pedestrian OOC schedule... we also needed help from the other G5 teams at the top taking bad losses at the end of the season. So being undefeated that year wasn't a guaranteed spot in the cotton bowl.
Think about years like this year... had we gotten our business done and beat both MSU and SU... and made it past toledo and EMU... and went on to be undefeated I am almost CERTAIN we would be left out behind a 1 or 2 loss UCF team... or a 1 loss SMU or Boise St team... The MAC as a whole this year is dragging everyone down... we eat our own on a regular basis... and as a whole we tend to drop giant deuces in bowl games...
We need to prove we can hang with better G5's before we start taking on the bigger P5 programs. Id like to see us tangle with the likes of UCF and Boise... or Memphis... while also keeping teams like Cinci and Syracuse/Pitt on the schedule...
Taking huge lumps against the Ohio States and USC's of world aren't doing us much other than filling the coffers...

1. LSU Tiger Stadium
2. Clemson's Memorial Stadium aka Death Valley
3. Penn State's Beaver Stadium.
Awesome game day experiences.

RE: Future Schedules
My wish-list is more about the area location than the stadium/campus itself.
UNLV - Vegas weekend + Bronco football, can't go wrong.
UCF - Disney + Bronco football. Plus we never got that return visit down there when they were in the MAC.
Boston College - Never been to Boston and heard great things about the city.
I once had USC or UCLA on my dream list, and thankfully that came to fruition. Great competitive game, too.

Saw us play (and defeat) Vanderbilt in 1998. It'd be nice to schedule them again, Nashville's a nice destination to spend a weekend. Beautiful campus too.

RE: Future Schedules
Our upcoming home & home with Pittsburgh should be fun.
First, the games are reasonably winnable, i.e. we have a chance.
Second, it is awesome Pitt will be coming to Kalamazoo.
Third, Pittsburgh is a fabulous city to visit, not too far a drive from Michigan, and affordable compared to many other large cities, i.e. Chicago, Boston, or DC.
Note that several years ago Forbes listed the top cities for young professionals. Pittsburgh was #2, behind only Cincinnati, which I also like (ribs at The Montgomery Inn Boathouse on the Ohio!!).

RE: Future Schedules
One doesn't have to wait to see our team play (lose usually) at many of the great historic CFB venues.
Take a vacation in that area and go.
Went to LA to see our daughters couple years ago over Christmas and they took us on the Rose Bowl tour.
One of highlights of my life.

Tulane.
(After living out west for a long time, I now live 5 blocks from their stadium.)
If you've never been to New Orleans, you're missing out. (Doesn't have to be during Mardi Gras either.)

We won the game of attrition in 2016, which is exactly what every winner of the G5 spot does. A MAC, CUSA or Sunbelt team needs to go undefeated. An American or MWC can in some years have a loss. Regardless, the stars still need to align. But it's doable. This year WMU actually, it turns out, had a very favorable schedule. MSU and Syracuse, along with the preseason top contenders in the MAC, Toledo and NIU, are all on down years, and if we were a solid team we could have beaten any or all of them.
G5 schools struggle more with defense than top P5 programs. Western hasn't had a respectable defense in three years, and until that gets fixed we will be out of the G5 contender conversation.

1. Ole Miss: nothing like the grove and it’s a truly unique environment
2. Pitt: reasonably close big city I wouldn’t visit otherwise and since it’s September 50/50 chance at an mlb game
3.Tennessee: volunteer navy, iconic uniform not as hot in September as other sec venues
