FWIW, I agree. And even if they are better than the scores indicate, they’re susceptible to criticism because of games like this. There’s great parity in the AAC, though. Winning on the road seems to be everyone’s kryptonite, but you’d think some games would be easier than others...

On the FCS side, I’m watching Villanova lose out from the playoffs. Three straight they’ve lost, and had the lead at some point, if not much throughout all of them, including at JMU. QB’s unraveling; three interceptions the first six games, seven the last three.

MWC teams might be better from top to bottom than people think. I thought that the AAC have not been impressive at all this season. SMU played some cupcakes this year which showed their true colors the past few weeks until they finally lost. Yes, Boise State lost to BYU, but BYU is a good team even with injuries. BYU vs Boise State became a rivalry game now. So, it would be intense. It could be the close proximity. The distance between SMU and Memphis is large that they both should not be in the west together. The AAC is being overhyped in this thread. Memphis lost to Temple and Temple lost to Buffalo. Temple should not have lost, and Memphis should not have lost to Temple. All these schools in the AAC will lose another game because they have not impressed me much. Boise State is now the front-runner in my opinion with a drop off to Memphis and a further drop off to the rest.

That Temple lose to buffalo is the only g4 lose for the entire AAC this season.

ECU is a very bad team, and Cincy barely survived. Keep them ranked but outside the top 20. Maybe #22 or #23? They do need to drop a few notches.

Any fan receiving criticism of their teams subpar performance from a UTEP fan should take that criticism to heart. We really do know bad football and should be considered the ultimate source of such information.

Many of the these AAC teams would fit right in with the Big XII. They play zero defense. Looks like they playing flag football out there.

Truth be told, in this era of CFB there are only a hand full of teams that play defense: Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Ohio State.. maybe a couple more but the number is really small.

And in the Big 12 they don't call holding on passing plays. So with the good QBs, the defenses get carved up.

USC jumped off to a 10-0 lead on Oregon before total meltdown. Oregon was back on top 28-17 with 4 USC turnovers and a kickoff return for a TD (at almost the exact same time Memphis returned the 2nd half kickoff against SMU) at halftime. And Oregon kept scoring in the 2nd half.

Not many laughable scores as only 2 P5 1 or 2 loss teams fell-and both fell to other 1 or 2 loss teams (Florida to UGA, VT to ND). It was only SMU (which oddsmakers favored Memphis), App St. and UAB (underdog to TN) who lost of the G5 0-1-2 loss teams.

Oregon had 7 points with 2 minutes to go in the first half. So they scored 49 points the last 32 minutes of the game.

I think what's happened is that the "laughable scores" thread has become just the general catch-all games-discussions thread.

So next week, I'll (or someone else) start a "games discussion" thread just to discuss all the games, not specifically the ones with surprising scores.

Only laughable scores are Middle Tennessee State lost to Charlotte, Troy lost to Coastal Carolina, Arizona lost to Oregon State, Kennesaw State lost to Monmouth, N. Colorado beat Idaho State, Fresno State beat Hawaii, BYU 42 Utah State 10, and N. Alabama beat Campbell.
