Question UConn 2020 Schedule?
I haven’t seen anything about how the Huskies are doing finding teams to play.

As I understand things, a 11 team AAC means nobody in the conference has an extra game to fill/schedule. Thus, natural games like Temple don’t seem likely next year.

Does anyone know how they are doing filling out their schedule.

I couldn't find much for 2020. UConn future schedule looks like this so far (9/19/19):

2020 - UMass, at Illinois, Maine, Indiana

2021 - Holy Cross, Purdue, at UMass, at Clemson

2022 - Central Connecticut, at NC State, Boston College

2023 - Duke, Lafayette, NC State, at Boston College

2024 - at Duke, at Maryland

2025 - Central Connecticut, at Purdue

2026 - Lafayette, at Tennessee, at Maryland

So they have 8 games to fill next year. I'm guessing Villanova and other Big East FCS teams may be available. I find it interesting that they have future home/home with Purdue, Maryland, Duke, BC, NC State, and away games at Tennessee and Clemson. I suppose the BE basketball tie-in is providing the home/home with Duke and other basketball powers.

Looks like they are counting on a lot of AAC games.

I’m going to guess Temple fills the UConn spot with UConn.

I notice they don't have more than 4 games scheduled in any one year. Maybe their figuring that if we don't get the waiver we'll let them hang round, if only for a year or 2.

How? They will have 8 AAC games + scheduled games against Idaho, Umass, Miami, and Rutgers. Everyone in the AAC seems to have all four OOC games scheduled.

There’s no spot to fill... the AAC will still play 8 conference games.

This is correct. My guess is that xConn redshirts bowl eligibility for 2020. It's kind of a no brainer as they stand right now that will have to fill much of 2020 with FCS schools, and making a bowl isn't happening in any event. Plus they'll get to size up some of their future Conference mates.

Their "we"re just here to socialize" fanbase won't notice because they already think the AAC teams are Sunbelt or worse.

They will shop home and home basketball games for home and home football games. I remember hearing we (Memphis) were talking about this ... I'm betting Aresco may have pulled a plug on this for now until the money deal gets settled and paid. I don't see how they can continue playing D1 football ...

0-16, because both sides will manage to lose.

Well, we wouldn’t be there just to socialize if we weren’t terrible. However, UCF has proven that when times get tough, your fan base has to do what it has to do and socialize (or River Dance):

Over the long term, that can certainly work.

For 2020, it cannot.

Memphis doesn't need to agree to to a football game with UCONN to get a basketball game. I thought Memphis and UCONN already have an agreement for an h/h in basketball. Anyway if we were to agree to a deal like that it would be against a p5. Memphis has done this in the past back when the old big east left us behind.

Why don't they just play their new, better conference mates Xavier, Marquette, Providence and Seton Hall???

They're all as good at football as Yukon.
