NEW MEXICO ST.
I suspect we’ll win this one, but a loss isn’t inconceivable. I think we take care of business.

38 - Liberty
21 - N.M. State

RE: NEW MEXICO ST.
The first of a big away portion of the schedule. Five of the next six games are on the road. New Mexico State is a very winnable game that we should win. We aren't good enough to look ahead at the next opponents. Stay focused, get a needed win, and get one step closer to bowl eligibility.

Freeze and company know this is one that we have to get if we want to go bowling (our number one goal). I just can’t see us slipping up in these two games or the UMASS one.

Rutgers fired their coach and offensive coordinator. That winnable game just got better unless they are somehow more motivated.

Saw we are gonna be in all white uniforms. That is my favorite combination for road games. Looks so clean and sharp!

RE: NEW MEXICO ST.
Two most important factors going into this game:

1) Freeze's ability to travel. Freeze has certainly been a major help to his guys on the sideline, but will he be able to handle a 4 hour plane ride & bus trip before being on the sideline? He expressed that's he's feeling better, but can his body handle all of that right now? If so, our chances of winning go way up. If not, we may be looking at a rough day ahead.

2) How bad is New Mexico State actually? They have lost every game so far, but it's not like they've had the easiest of schedules. We have one common opponent: New Mexico. While they lost to them & beat them, these things are not always an a + b = c situation, as we all well-know. We will find out this Saturday how good or bad they truly are.

Having to listen to the radio on interweb.

What a promising drive turned to misery.

I know we’re winning after one quarter, but it doesn’t feel like it.

Just a sliver of breathing room. It’s getting better as the game goes along. But golly this game is 03-zzz. I’m hoping for a big second half..... for us only.

Really doubt that. If they were gonna get fired up over that, you would’ve seen at least some sign of life today vs. Maryland. Instead, it was just another prison-rape, 48-7.

The culture of student-apathy is deeply ingrained at Rutgers. They will have no “home field advantage” for LU to overcome. This game is there for the taking if LU is up for it.

Reliable Rutgers! They'll always have that one week of that one year of being ranked #1 when they typically play like #2.

Style points don't help us get bowl eligible so I'll take whatever I can get. Just need two more non-FCS wins to have a shot at a bowl. We'll see how close the Cure Bowl tie-in is.

The flight back to Virginia will be a happy one.

I mean, obviously I’m not on the team or the coaching staff, so I don’t want to speak as if I know what’s happening on the inside. But just looking from the outside, Rutgers appears to be all-but-dead and I think they’re looking at 1-11 on the season. I admit, they could get up for the games against LU and @Illinois to go 3-9. We’ll see, but I’d be very surprised. They’ve been outscored 100-7 the last 2 games.

Great to see that LU won. Was not able to watch it. Looks like another ugly win against a New Mexico team. That's fine by me.
