Seriously. Far left Vox comments that the Dems all hated President Trump's trade policy, but none of them had any alternatives.

Neither party has a winning message. If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything. That's how Trump happened.

I am surprised that Dem leadership hasn't coalesced around a few major ideas other than "Beat Trump". My coworkers and I all had twitter push a poll to us this weekend. Oddly, each one of us received a different Dem candidate (Sanders, Biden, Warren, Beto, and Mayor Pete). It asked what I wanted from my candidate (paraphrasing): Economy, Social Values, Immigration, or Beat Trump. Why is beat trump even up there...that should be the result of a good platform, not the platform itself.

I will be interested in how the Dem candidate switches up their stances out of the primaries to appeal to the center...they continue to drift further and further left and I'm not sure what they do to walk back statements to appeal to middle america.

If republicans are smart, they have lots of soundbites ready to package into campaign adverts. Of course, "If republicans are smart," anticipates facts that are not in evidence.

Obama was supposedly the worst ever and the country survived just fine for 8 years. Just as we'll likely survive a far worse president for 4 years in trump.

Its kind of like the Republicans on health care. They have no clue what they want to do.

The Republicans are split on trade, but at least the various factions know what they want to do. They just disagree. Nobody seems to have any real opinions on health care.
