I'm going transitive here. How the hell does Boise move up? They beat a team that beat Louisiana Monroe by one point on a missed extra point. At home. Boise beat Murray frikken State 14-7 at home.

How the hell are they even ahead of Memphis at this point, let alone moving up in the polls. Unreal bull****.

Preseason poll bias. Same reason why Hawaii isn't currently ranked despite their 2 P5 wins (best in the G5). I tried to tell this to your AAA friend in that other thread.

He loves you, you know.

Sometimes it's hard to tell. Tough to make/keep friends in these hostile times...

You'll always have a "Safe Space" with us.

We did not play Murray State, we played Marshall. We out-gained them by over 300 yards and they did not get a single yard in the second half. We had one touchdown called back we had a missed field-goal and we took a knee inside the 10 yard line at the end of the game because our coach has a ton of class and never runs up the score. It was complete and total domination.

Forgot to mention Our classy coach didn't run up the score either when he trotted out the second and third stringers at the end of the 3rd quarter and took a knee at the five yard line.

He had a bunch of kids who won't play much busting at the seams wanting to score that td. Also, we gave up a touch down when we fumbled at their five yard line going in for a score. White got hit while throwing, and nobody went after the guy because they thought it was incomplete. He scooped it up and went 90 yards for a TD. 14 point swing.

They gained 15 yds. in the second half. Also, our opponent didn't have to travel from mainland china to mile high conditions to play on a blue field against guys wearing blue uniforms. The ghost effect.

Keep winning and you will be ranked and beat UCF and you may jump us. Is your last point serious? I worked at a Lexus dealership for 6 1/2 years in sales and management and about four or five times when on a test drive women, and it was only women, would mention to me that they did not want to buy a gray car because it “blended in with the road”. I was utterly baffled the first time I heard this comment and each time my response was, “perhaps, but the road does not have four wheels and move at 60 mph”.

You can find it utterly baffling if you wish, but it is true. Tan and gray cars are not nearly as noticeable in your peripheral vision as red and white cars. That's just a fact.

That is not a fact, it is the paranoid delusions of low IQ people all over the world. Roads do not have four wheels and move 60 miles an hour. How on earth anyone who thinks that a car can literally blend into a road is allowed to get a drivers license is beyond me.

How old are you, kid... On a rainy afternoon and some fool doesn't have his lights on, I guarantee you will see a red car more readily than a grey car coming from behind you in your side mirror or rear-view. Here's a hint, genius. They aren't going 60 mph relative to you, or the two eyeballs in your head. They may only be going a few miles faster than you. You merge into a lane you thought was clear. Guess what... It wasn't.

I have a degree in Graphic Design, Creative Director for 20 years, and owned a printing and graphic design company for 16 years. I could pull out that card, but I'd like to hear the theories of color contrast from a Lexus car salesman first.

What do you mean you “could”? You just did. I had a client yesterday call me and tell me that he’s the president of a pharmaceutical company and that is originally from Boston Massachusetts and that, “blah blah blah” and I couldn’t care less. To be so insecure that you need validation from anonymous strangers on a message board is sad. A gray car does not blend into the road, that is nonsense, Sorry if that hurt your credentialed sensibilities.

Of course I pulled out that card. I couldn't bare to hear your nonsense anymore about how a gray car on a gray road stands out as much as a red car. Looks like I hit a nerve when I pointed out your marketing departments tactics to gain Boise State an unfair home field advantage over it opponents by making everything Blue. Not only is everything Blue, it's the exact same shade of blue. There is absolutely zero color contrast.

Now if you wanted to contrast that shade of blue so you'd be able to see your players better you'd use the color ORANGE which is the compliment color to blue (highest contrast). That just so happens be your secondary school color that you've almost completely eliminated on your uniforms. Why?, because anyone who understands color contrast knows that would make your players easier to see. If you think all of those decisions were done by accident then you're a fool. Fool!

I never said that. I merely pointed out that if one can’t distinguish between asphalt and a 2000lb moving machine with 4 wheels, perhaps driving isn’t for them.

On the other hand the military uses camouflage to blend into their surroundings. Seems like they believe some colors are more visible than others.

That is what camoulflage is. Whatever the background is, you replicate it in your clothing etc. In Boise's case they are camoulflageing a solid blue field with solid blue uniforms.

Next years uniform.

Now post a video of a gray car driving 60 mph on the road. And if you can’t tell the difference between the car and the road, turn in your drivers license… Now

The U.S. Army's moves from desert camo, to ACUs to blend in better when a majority of operations were in an urban insurgency environment, to the new OCPs now that we're no longer in that environment are well documented.

Tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are a lot larger than cars and we paint them in desert schemes for that theater of operations. It was a big deal when the Army recommitted to a significant rotational presence in Europe and had to go back to green schemes on a lot of equipment.

We paint ships haze gray, and we paint aircraft a lighter shade of gray to blend with sky and clouds, and they are moving faster than your 60 mph.

A lot of science has gone into present day digitized camouflage patterns, and it's also actually fascinating to look back at the history of WWII ship paint patterns in jagged patterns of different grays, proven out by trial in a wartime environment.

Both motion and contrast are important in our visual sensing - both how the rods and cones of the eye detect and how the brain processes. It's how we evolved as omnivores at the top of the food chain. There are differences in peripheral vision and in viewing directly - which applies to the examples of merging and of seeing blue on blue on a football field.

Not allowing a visiting opponent to conduct walk through on the actual turf which is different from every other environment in which they've ever played is bush league in an obvious attempt to maximize a unique home field advantage.

Week 3 Color Polls are now available:

#1: "Adaptive Camouflage."

Kidding aside, I have no idea the context of the conversation, but I interpreted it as a "Boring Beige" reference, equivalent similar to painting in professional real estate.

Neutral colors sell houses to a larger market, but "loud" colors are sometimes preferred by clients that want to customize their home to their own tastes, but selling those homes reduces the size of the potential market of buyers, who will want to just repaint it to their liking regardless.

Thank you sir. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they paint planes lighter on the bottom for people looking upward to the sky and darker on top to camo them from the ground. Much like a shark. he's dark on top so prey can't see him striking from underneath. lighter on the bottom so he can't be seen above his prey.

That’s not what I asked for, you showed static pictures of stationary animals blended into natural scenery. A parked car is not going to hurt you so that is a moot point. If you really believe that a moving gray car driving 60 mph blends in with the road then post a video and let us see for ourselves. Why you want to die on this hill is beyond me other than pride. That link you posted means nothing because there are thousands of sites that are going to validate anybody’s claim. I can point you to a website that claims that the earth is flat.
