As good as he is, I agree. If he could go a season without some type of problems off field, I might be a little bit more on his side.

They are not playing Tony but for four plays and 16 total yards. No sense in risking injury to your NEW #1 running back.

Uh, yeah. That's sort of the thing. Unless he's being a complete idiot in these negotiations, which with him I don't doubt, Dallas has GOT to get him on the field. Pollard is a great college player and all, and I would love for him to be a surprise phenom RB this year and kick Elliot to the curb, but, doesn't anyone remember the numbers Elliot put up in college? And then thus far in his NFL career? Without a miracle replacement, you have GOT to get him on the field.

Nice!!

Count Jerry Jones pleased with the work of rookie running back Tony Pollard, who had four carries for 16 yards. What was potentially most interesting was the fact that he did not play at all after the first series. "He looks confident out there. We know he's inordinately understanding what it is he does and what he can do," Jones said "We've seen him do it. We know he's capable, if he really needs to, carry the whole load."

TP goes from running back to bargaining chip in one series. Interesting.

Seems to be the trend this preseason which kinda sucks but I understand it. Not saying the starters should play the whole game but I want to see the new guys play at least two ore three series just to see them play.

It has always been this way, especially the first game.
I am hoping they drop 2 preseason games and add a regular season game.

Right. His PT will ramp up over the next 2 games, but then he might not play at all in the last one.

you do understand that Jones was talking to two people and only two people when he said that?

RE: Pollard to start tonight
My understanding is that Elliot's contracted salary increases this year and then a substantial amount next year. If he does not play this year, the increase for that year of the contract will not take effect for another year. He can wait until the 10th game to play and still have his already contracted increases kick in for this and next season. If he waits past that time, his increases for this year won't start until next season. His big increase is in the following year. He can't afford to delay that.
That is the analysis I read. The prediction is that he waits until the last game possible and then shows up. What Dallas will do with him is anybody's guess. His contract situation is different from Bell's and some other hold outs. He will have to show up to play unless he gets traded perhaps.

I would suspend him. Then sue his ass for breach of contract and have him repay every dime he got in his original rookie contract.
He agreed to his contract and should abide by that contract until he signs the next one.

I missed most of the first half, but both apparently played well.

That's not how contracts work.

That TD up the middle was a thing of beauty. It takes more than an arm-tackle to knock TP off balance!
DH did catch every ball thrown at him in the game-6 targets, 6 catches.
