The article talks about him going pro but maybe a good showing may get him some Walker cup consideration. if he wins the AM then he'll be on the Walker Cup team but would a good showing (Semi Final?) be enough?

He made the Q-Finals last year, losing to Hovland who ended up winning it all. Squires has serious game...bombed one about 330 yesterday and really only missed one put inside 10' all day.

He's going to have to come back to win this one - 3 down after 8 holes.

And he has come back. The match is tied with 3 holes to go. Another exciting day.

Squires wins on the 19th hole. What a comeback. In the round of 16.

It was fun watching him yesterday. Since he was in the last pairing on the course they featured the match for the last 4-5 holes.

Halfway home. Squires is up 4 through 9.

Squires Birdies again. 5 up through 10.

He is playing very well this round - 4 under par through 10 holes.

They'd mentioned on the broadcast, no 64 seed has ever won the US Amateur Championship. Barring an catastrophic collapse, he'll be in the quarter-finals tomorrow.

This is basically VCU making the Final Four from the play-in game.

His opponent is making him sweat a little. Now 3 up with 4 to go.

3 up 3 to play. Needs one more halve

Squires really does shine in a match play format...he just pars everything. Basically forces his opponent to birdie to win and play pretty much perfect golf to come back.

Going to be fun to watch tomorrow!
