Looking at the ISU board again it does appear to be just a couple posters that are ragging on NIU, especially that troll.

No thanks to any in-state rivalries outside of Champaign or Evanston. It would be nice of those schools manned up and scheduled us regularly, every 5 years or so at least. P*ssies.
Couldn't ISU, WIU, SIU, EIU say that about us. Personally, I prefer scheduling one of these teams. More local interest which would mean more butts in the seats.
We do schedule them. Just not regularly.
EIU almost beat NIU when Jimmy Garrapolo threw all over huskie stadium.
WIU beat NIU a few years ago in 2016 and we beat them in 2009. Actually WIU is 2-1 all-time vs. NIU.

Exactly. And what's funny, I am sure U if I and NW downplay us, even in losing seasons or should we take a game. The same way we do about ISU, WIU, EIU.
We SHOULD schedule one of them each year and then get a NW or UI every other or 2/3 years.

Life is too short to waste time looking at an ISU fan board. Just an echo chamber.

My experiences have led me to conclude EIU and ISU are the most annoying in-state fanbases.

Massey has Huskies by 7 vs the Redbirds with a 69% win probability. This is about equivalent to him as the win probability for NIU over Western Michigan at home (67%). Id say that is some respect for Illinois State, they are like the Broncos coming into town. Give them that MAC invite!

You think your last reference and insults will lead to them scheduling us?
All Huskie fans would relish the chance to face either team more often but you've got to realize their attitude is they have "nothing to gain / everything to lose" when they play us. Don't wear the same blinders the ISU troll uses.

In my view the game has changed, Illinois has been sooo bad for sooo long, I almost feel like as an NIU fan that there is nothing to gain from it on this end. Yes you would have bragging rights for a day with that uncle or sister or co-worker that went to U of I , but outside of that, who would care? Lets just say I for one do not in eager anticipation wait for future schedules to see if Illinois is on it, not even something that enters the brain once that I hope for.

Just checked out the ISU board. That Jon99 is a weirdo. He had a story about a friend's kid who was an NIU student and fan, but took one look at ISU's campus and wanted to transfer immediately. That guy is full of baloney. I can't imagine why he would begrudge NIU, unless he was not accepted, or his girlfriend left him for a Huskie.

If we lose to illinois state then it's going to be a rough season for us. They're our easiest non-conference opponent, by far, and probably the easiest, or top 2-3 easiest, opponents on our entire schedule.

Jon99 is psycho. Someone in the ISU community needs to help him or chase him off.

ISU is ranked 15th in the FCS; what that means, I don't really know. FCS teams have been upsetting FBS teams on a regular basis the last several seasons DOn't take them lightly.

Not to split heirs or nit-pick, but NIU is 21-18-1 against WIU all-time. Also, in case you were wondering, NIU is 25-22-9 vs ISU.

And when were most of those games played?

This game is going to be a barn burner, like the EIU game with JL6 and Tony G. Not to mention that it's the first game with a new coaching staff and scheme...

I would be so happy if we blew them out.....That would mean that our offense is clicking early. I expect our defense to show up.

Reading some of the comments on the isu board reminds me of the isu troll neal from a few years ago. It will make the win that much more sweeter.
