YouTubeTV went up twice. For me when I switched Vue was cheaper.

Presently I use a Firestick for Netflix, Prime, ESPN app and ESPN+. So I’m well over $200 a month for television entertainment.
My internet speed is great. Last speed test said my net is faster than 89% of Americans. I can stream a film on Mobdro or Kodi, listen to music and still surf on my iPad.
Just looking for suggestions on how to bring this cost down.
I get the locals .... but why wouldn't you just use OTA for that? The OTA broadcasts are also in better quality than anything you'll get streaming or from cable or from a dish.

The $50/mo tier of Vue lacks many sports channels, including SECN, BTN, NFL, MLB, NBA, and Golf. You need the $55 tier to get these.
Youtube TV is $55 if you buy it from Apple, but otherwise is $50. For $50 you currently get every sport channel offered by Vue on its $55 tier except NFL Network. In addition, ACCN, which has been picked up by Vue has not been picked up by YouTube TV.
Living in New England, it matters that Vue does not carry NESN (Red Sox and Bruins), but Youtube TV does. I currently have Youtube TV because of this. However, if Youtube TV does not pick up ACCN, I'll probably switch to Vue for football and basketball season.
Both services run great on high speed broadband. I honestly cant see any picture quality difference on either from cable.

Where I live, I can't get most locals OTA, so that's not an option for me. I agree, though, if you can then that's not a consideration.

2 weeks from today is launch date...in the home stretch at this point.
Hopefully Comcast will get on board in the next dozen days or there will be a mass exodus that will definitely hurt their bottom line.

Here's a link to a first look video of the new ACCN studios. Note that you have to enter a passcode: ACC
https://vimeo.com/352695658
Interesting that the studio prominently uses stone in its look. That's unusual for a TV studio. I know that stone is a prominent part of the look at Duke and Va. Tech. What about other ACC schools? BC? Notre Dame?

Jim, this thread is a good primer

As an ACC fan I think YouTube TV is the best.
You get your local Louisville channels. A caveat:. You won't get all the sub channels.
Cost:. Your internet feevplus $55 or so for YouTube TV
You need to also have an interface device. If you have a smart TV you might be set. I have older, dumb LED TV's and I use a Roku.

Some programming news:
There will be a version of Gameday originating from Clemson for the Ga.Tech at Clemson game, with the regular crew, partially on ESPN and partially on ACCN.
https://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41072498-4
There's also this.

ACCN will offer fans two alternate viewing options for Miami vs. Florida and Notre Dame at Louisville.

The showwill include analysts Richt and Jon Beason in the Bristol, Conn., studios along with Packer and Durham, reacting to live game action. ESPN college football analyst and former Miami All-American Jonathan Vilma will contribute from Orlando.
All ACC Watch Party: Notre Dame at Louisville
On Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 2), fans will have the opportunity to watch Notre Dame at Louisville (8 p.m., on ESPN) with Fighting Irish and Cardinals alumni Jac Collinsworth (Notre Dame), Mike Golic Jr. (Notre Dame) and Eric Wood (Louisville) in the ACCN studio in Bristol. The group will provide in-depth analysis and reaction throughout the game.

I figured they'd do something like this for the Duke-UNC basketball games but they're not waiting.

If you want NFL Network - PS Vue $55/month. Also a sports pack option for RedZone, BEIN, and out of area RSNs (Blackouts apply). NHL Network is also coming soon.
If you dont want NFL Network - YouTube TV $50. Has the same sports content as PS Vue except no NFL Network or sports pack option and they are not adding NHL network.
Both should have your locals but youll wanns check your zip code to be sure. I would get an antenna though as thats always a good, free backup at the bare minimum.

FWIW, the Watch ESPN schedules page is now showing ACCN content that is scheduled coming up starting Aug. 22nd...
http://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/?star...e=upcoming
Looks like they will be showing some FB game replays on the 23rd and probably more leading up to the opener between GT at Clemson.
edit note: from the link above, will need to scroll over to launch date of the 22nd

Jody Demling, who runs Louisville 24/7 site, reported being on a conference call yesterday with ESPN senior vice president, college networks, Rosalyn Durant. He said she talked about the distribution options for the ACC Network and said "we anticipate more options in the near future."
Good stuff, Jim. Thanks for sharing that.
I guess the important words there are "near future", which hopefully is next week but we all know could drag out longer. I'm sure I am preaching to the choir here when I say the most frustrating thing of all this is all entities have known about this channel launch for going on 2-3 years. I know some folks who have already switched (though I think it may be early for that), but lots of folks including myself are already making contingency plans and doing the research for switches if/when their current carrier doesn't get their act together in the next 10 days.
Fingers still crossed. I really don't want to leave Comcast-Xfinity, but I damn well will.

RE: ACC Network
Here's a good summary of where things stand, from The State newspaper in SC.
https://www.thestate.com/sports/college/...73717.html
Note that the big one for the ACC may be Charter, which goes by the brand name of Spectrum. I think they're the second largest carrier nationally but they're heavy on the East coast, where they may be the biggest carrier. Charter isn't just negotiating over ACCN. They're not just negotiating over ESPN. They're negotiating over ALL of Disney. Apparently, their contract with Disney ran out at the end of July. You haven't heard anything about ESPN going dark on Spectrum, however. Apparently, they're extended the contract deadline in order to finish negotiations. If this negotiation was at risk of falling through, I think we'd be hearing dire warnings. I think, or hope, this means that they're near finishing up on this. If it falls through, it wouldn't just be the ACCN affected, SECN would also be affected. We haven't heard our SEC friends worrying about this though, have we?
And, by the way, here's a USA Today piece on the team behind ACCN, which is mostly women.

Seems like negotiations aren't going well with Comcast, DISH, Century Link and Frontier. The FSU AD is recommending that FSU fans using any of those carriers to not just contact their carrier but to now switch carriers.

Note that he is not telling Spectrum customers to switch carriers.

When you combine that with the fact that Disney and Charter have gone past the expiration date of the previous contract without removing any channels, it does sound promising.
