RE: First acknowledgement by an AAC AD?
FWIW---when we faced this same issue in 2016, Aresco indicated that the likely course of action for the AAC was--

If we lose 1---we replace.

If we lose 2---we likely would stand pat.

That said---there is now more TV money on the table and there will be more of a financial gain found in splitting that UConn share in 2020 than there was in 2016. lol---it also sounds like Gladchuk thinks Buffalo is a worthless add.

Navy AD Gladchuk on UConn: "They were a good partner. I enjoyed the relationship with them, but if they think the grass is greener, they need to go grace in that direction. We want people affiliated with the conference that want to be there."

Whether or not the AAC replaces UConn also ties into the TV deal.

Navy AD Gladchuk: "It means there’s one less distribution to make. It means we get a little more of the revenue sharing. Anyone that comes in has got to be a plus rather than a fiscal detriment.”

Navy AD Chet Gladchuk doesn't believe UConn's impending departure will significantly affect the AAC TV deal.

"The ratio of interest by ESPN on the AAC, it was overwhelming in football. … I don’t think losing UConn is going to affect us to any degree of any significance.”

lol that's an AD saying as clearly as you can say, that UConn was an absolute non-factor in deriving most of the value of the TV deal since it revolved around FOOTBALL.

As I already said.

That was a football only member AD responding. You think any other AD feels the same about losing UConn basketball and it's impact?

That's not what I said, is it? I've said that the TV deal was overwhelmingly football oriented and UConn leaving really doesn't impact that whatsoever. Just confirmed by Navy AD.

The ADs care first and foremost that the new TV revenue is in place and it is. Football will be even stronger and they'll surely backfill a good basketball school.

I think it’s safe that even WSU looks at UCONN like, “Fine, then go. If you don’t wanna be here we don’t want your sorry asses here.”

Gonzaga and/or VCU should absolutely get calls to gauge their interest.

I don't think Memphis cares one bit. #1 recruiting class in the nation, plus we've been through worse and still thrived.

Shut it down boys. This tells me everything I need to know. We are staying at 11.

What were they?

"What Boise State wanted was outrageous and unprecedented. It was not palatable to any of the other Big East institutions," Gladchuk said. "In the final analysis, Boise wasn't worth it. There is zero television interest in Boise along the Eastern seaboard. What it tells me is the Mountain West was desperate. Clearly, the Mountain West was willing to make whatever concessions necessary to keep Boise in the fold."

And it wasn't a rant. Just like his current comments aren't necessarily salty.

Just the truth.
