Yes, at age 25 Joey was a very effective position player and did exactly what his coaches and teammates asked of him.

Dude we all love Joey but the brains on the floor is Antonio Anderson; hands down.

I loved Joey's game, but he struck me as a Hulk Smash guy more than a floor general.

I think we have a chance to make the NCAA tournament this year.

yep which is why like 9 out of 10 of my friends had no idea what I was talking about until I had them watch a game with me. After being shown exactly what Joey was doing they would walk away agreeing fully with me. Dorsey was the coach on the floor. Too bad most people only see the ball going in or getting rebounded and that is the extent of what they see when watching basketball.

Then you should go back and watch the games with focus entirely on Dorsey. He was the one who would run back as fast as possible and then start pointing out everyone else's spot. He was a coach on the floor for that team.

I have to disagree. IMO Bartow was the best.

Cal’s teams rarely took bad shots especially when it mattered. That is a good definition of roles. His staff did a good job with shot charts and communicating to players where they should be shooting. He had a quick hook on guys that didn’t buy in.

Based on your numbers. Just based in recruiting class.

So I'm watching the 2003 CUSA semifinal game against Louisville in Freedom Hall. Game featured a freshman Rodney Carney, Jeremy Hunt with Anthony Rice, Earl Barron, Pitino vs Cal. Chris Massie fouls out. Game had no rhythm because Louisville fouls so much. John Grice hit 6 3's to keep us in it. It hit me, we have talented freshmen but there will be games where they come out flat and play experienced teams that will make them look weak. But I would rather have this team than any other.

Wasn't that the game cal complained all week that Louisville fouls every play and no call was the reason for their great defense. It worked to our favor.

As it is reality that not every #1 class wins the NC, there is also a reality that some #1 classes have won the NC. So, we can't be upset if we don't win NC. But, no other team has the type of coaching staff as Memphis.

I won't be upset if Memphis don't win the NC, but, with Coach Penny, Coach Mike and company, I think we have a pretty good chance. If not this year, maybe next year or another.
