Luckily a lot of interior work can be done while the weather is bad, even though the exterior stuff could be halted, so even if it doesn't look like things are going on I'm sure there will be

The first hint that it may not ALL be complete by Aug 31st...

"All the bells and whistles might not be in place, but should be when ODU hosts East Carolina three weeks later."

Sounds like it should be mostly complete prior to the NSU game and everything is still on schedule. Should really start to pop when the new turf goes down later this month!

This is most likely a reference to the Priority Club. The project superintendent told me last week, when I was on site that because it was such a late add that it will be the last piece of the puzzle to come together and may not be 100% by NSU. Ready by ECU is more realistic.

It's going to be nice. Whats the steel studs in front of the press boxes for? Is it for keeping rain and sun off the windows. Seems pretty good to me. Harry says half the seats are installed...he must be counting the endzone to. lol I do like his updates.

So, unlike the renderings. The press box had a different look in the 3D seat link for seats. It's not going to be as much glass as the renderings had. The beams are for the blue part in this picture. No clue if it will actually be blue or not though.

There is temporary scaffolding erected in front of the press box at this time so that they can complete the exterior of the field facing side of the press box - metal studs and skin. The renderings show almost full height glass on the field side of the press box, but the final product with have less glass near the roof - hence the studs.

I pick seats tomorrow morning. Can someone please remind me, do we have to pay the "membership fee" every year, or is that a one time fee and we just pay for the tickets themselves in the future? Thanks.

Every year as long as you want to keep those seats.

Got ya, see it now. Thanks. I know we talked press boxes to death. Are they two stories inside, without windows on the 2nd floor? Are the platforms next to the lights for the cameras? My seats are under the scaffolding, guess they need gone before they can finish the seats there. Would be a nice rain and shade cover. Harry seems to respond to questions we bring up here, very nice.

There are at least two levels (not separate stories) and maybe three at some locations within the press box. Yes, there are specific platforms for TV cameras - camera locations, turf design and lighting have been coordinated for optimal appearance on TV.

I have been watching the construction daily. I have to say the east side crew working on building the flooring and seating is taking forever to get finished. West side crew much faster.

I'm also curious to see if they will use Blue panels like in the 3D model or use the same silver/gray as they installed on the side of the pressbox as the photo shows.

Also, I don't mean to be that guy but those aren't beams, beams run horizontal for support. Those are studs for exterior framing 04-cheers

Y'all, they released updated renderings in late April.

RE: NEW stadium construction
Just picked. There are a TON of great seats still available. I got in section 210 (with the $50 fee) and its nearly empty. Plenty of blue chair seats are still available, though obviously they cost more. From looking at the site, I'd wager maybe 30% of the sideline seats have been purchased thus far. We will need some very strong walkup crowds this season to sell out games. Seems like there are many more seats available than when Ive picked in years past.

My estimate is well over 4000 seats. I would not be surprised if we don't have 6000 seats open.

I disagree. Between the 30s I would say about 60% of seats on the east side are gone and about 80-90% on the west side. Outside the 30s there are plenty of seats but there is also another week of selections and then the casual person who buys season tickets gets to choose. We will be fine

To be fair, you're not the Harbinger of Doom for ODU football, he is.

See what I mean? You couldn't pull this off with level of dedication and enthusiasm, cmett. Props where they are due...
