NCAA Baseball Tourney thread ....
Good luck to all ACC teams tomorrow, and this weekend in the regionals.

Cards play at 6, assuming weather holds up ....

Our no.1 starter Drew Parrish was nearly unhitable last year, not so much this year. Not sure what his deal is, perhaps the new pitching coach? If he can his mojo back then FSU has a chance to win the regional.

Georgia's ace is lights out. I don't know if they are throwing him tonight against Mercer. On the one hand, I hope so. I mean, they are still very good and worthy of the overall 4-seed after him. Having said that, they are beatable when he's not starting. If you face him, you better have a starter that can keep UGA scoreless or pretty darn close to it into the 7th-8th inning.

Now, having said all of THAT, don't sleep on Mercer. They are a very dangerous 4-seed. If UGA chooses to hold their #1 for tomorrow, the Bears could upset UGA tonight. Former GT All-ACC player, Kel Johnson, anchors the middle of the lineup for Mercer and he's a HR threat every time he heads into the box.

I certainly think FSU has a legit shot this weekend. Gotta win this afternoon though. Would love to see the classiest of all class acts, Mike Martin, head off to the retirement sunset in Omaha. I think with a few exceptions the baseball nation as a whole will be Noles fans this weekend in honor of MM.

So far, so good for the ACC. FSU gets it done earlier today. Clemson and Duke have nice leads late in their games. The Pack-Campbell game has been delayed multiple times due to lightning and rough weather at EZU. UNC had a good start but CAA champ, UNCW, has tied it now in the 9th. That'd be a helluva upset if the Seahawks were to somehow pull that one out. I still think the Tar Heels are in good shape.

UofL, GT and Miami need to get it done tonight.

Cards fall behind 3 - 0 early, but score 3 in bottom of 2nd. Now tied up at 3.

3 seed Illinois State beat Indiana in the early game.

Cards make it interesting --- up 5 - 3 going into the ninth, and then letting base runners get to second and third with no out --- but bring in the ace reliever who strikes out the side to shut the door.

Cards go on to play Illinois State in the winners game tomorrow.

UGA is holding out their ace for Saturday. FSU’s best pitcher C.J. Van Eck will face him. This could shape up to be a low scoring game.

ACC is 6-0 currently on day 1. Higher seeds took care of business and 3 seeds Duke and Clemson beat 2 seeds from SEC & Big 10.

-Miami tied 5-5 with CMU headed to the 8th
-NC State trails Campbell 5-4 mid 9th. Wolfpack have one more shot to tie it up or beat the Camels when the game resumes tomorrow after weather delay.

I just wanted to denote that it is complete and total horse**** that Auburn as the #2 regional seed playing at #3 national seed Georgia Tech will be broadcast on the SEC Network.

When I'm watching the game tonight, it will not matter to me at all what channel is broadcasting the game. I just hope Tech wins. Go Jackets! (and the rest of the ACC teams)

Cards lose to Illinois State 4-2, the first time the Cards have lost the 1-0 game at home in school history. Also snaps a 16 home game win streak in the regionals.

Illinois State pitcher goes the distance.

Cards play Indiana tomorrow in an elimination game. Then would have to beat Illinois State twice to advance to the Supers.

UofL slumping at the wrong time of the year. They can win 3 straight and advance, but the cards (no pun intended) are not strong in their hand at the moment. Maybe the 2-and-out in Durham was a sign. Let's hope not. Only getting 1 (or was it 2?) hit against Clemson in Durham was a negative eye opener.

Let's go Cards! Come back at home. You can do this.

FSU up 5-2 on the Dwags, bottom 5th. They pulled their ace Hancock.

*update* FSU jumps all over UGA in the 5th with an additional 5 runs and still batting. 03-nutkick

Way to go, Noles!! Woohoo. Drilling UGA's ace. Love it.

Duke up 4-0 at WVU in the 6th.

GT leading Auburn 5-2 in the 7th.

Could be a very good evening for the ACC if these teams can hang on.

I thought the board would enjoy knowing that Georgia Tech fans did a rousing tomahawk chant when they announced the FSU-U[sic]GA score. Thankfully they did it while the broadcast was Live. It was particularly enjoyable to watch on the SEC Network.

Oh that’s good. I hope GT is taking care of bidniz. Just 3 more outs and Noles win.

Danny Hall does what Danny Hall does in the Regionals. It's like Groundhog Day with leaving pitchers in too damn long. It's not every day you see a complete game walk off loss.

As usual, Georgia Tech finds new ways to choke in the postseason. So predictable. Sad.

Danny Hall should have been given the Jack Leggett curtain call .... and probably the exact same year Jack got it.
