2020 MBB Recruiting
Da'Jion Humphrey Twitter liked Coach Boatner's tweet about Tyler Hamilton's commitment. Doesn't mean a whole lot. At a minimum, it shows some sense of investment or interest in the program. Hopefully that continues.

RE: 2020 MBB Recruiting
Now that we have a fairly full roster for 2019/20 it all starts to lead to some conclusions for the 202021 season.

This year we will lose 2 guards, and 2 4/5 players. Leaving us with the following:

1 - Loewe (Sr.), Scott (Jr.)
2 - Williams (Sr.), Ayesa (Soph.)
3 - Blair (Jr.)
4 - Wight (Soph.)
5 - Harvey (Jr.)

We either need some sit a year transfers this year or a whole lot of recruits. Seems like transfers will balance the roster.

Hamilton only plaued 6 games last year, he should be eligible for a medical redshirt if he wants it.

Those six year waivers are no guarantee and, as I understand it, can only be applied for after the fifth year (so after this coming season).

I think this season will tell a lot if they want to tie up a scholarship for that 6th year. If he proves to be a valuable piece, than fine. If he averages 1.8pts this year in limited time, than I'm not so sure.

Fair points all around.

Also, this was definitely mentioned before, and I'm just having a hard time finding the thread, but why does Van Vliet only have one year left? He only played 2 at Wisconsin

He was ruled ineligible as a freshman I believe. And that counted towards his time.

Thinking about this a bit, I'm curious how it works. W&M only offers a basic MBA, which UPenn does as well. Grad transfers are supposed to only be able to transfer to schools with a program not offered by their previous school.

I don't think this is a hard and fast rule. At least not one that is actually enforced. A grad transfer is pretty much free and clear to go wherever they please.

Ivy League does not allow grad players. Once you graduate, that's it, even if you have additional eligibility. Conference rule. Otherwise, Cole would have been crazy not to stay at Dartmouth for his MBA.

Coach Howland started following NCAAGeorgia, which runs a team camp and a top 100 players in GA camp in June. Howland could be looking at any number of people but I noticed that Colin Granger’s team is there and Granger was invited to the individual player camp.
