Another Trump bailout
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/trump...25450.html
Quote:“I would prefer we had the trade we used to have with China,” he told Yahoo Finance. “I don’t want to have to rely on the federal government to be able to survive out here as a farmer. My fear is there will be another payment here, but is this sustainable? At what point will the federal government stop paying farmers? Will we have the trade deal in place at that point to pick up where the federal government leaves off? I don’t know.”

When Trump leaves office, he's going to slap a bankruptcy sign on America. Then China will slap a foreclosed sign on us.

RE: Another Trump bailout
The trade war with China needs to happen. For decades China's been stealing our intellectual property and extorting American companies who want to build or sell anything in China. And rather than being grateful that we've looked the other way at this theft, they use their new wealth to threaten our allies and build weapons that are specifically targeted at America (like the carrier-killer missile).

This is one issue that has full bipartisan support.

This is true.

Plus there has been substantial farmer subsidization for years, not just from Trump. Hopefully, in the end, this levels the playing field.

I am not a fan of tariffs...but...If used to combat unfair trade?...then OK. At some point the playing field must be leveled and Im fine with additional subsidies during this leveling period. We and the farmers will be better off in the long run. Now we just have to get China to the table and get a deal done. I think it is time for another sit down between Trump and Xi.

The Chinese will be much more willing to deal when Trump wins in 2020. They have been reading the MSM and believe it. Much to their surprise they will have another four years to hold out. I don’t think their economy can survive 5 years of this pressure but we shall see.

I don't think the Chinese can afford to wait that long. We can.

Actually in that event we'd just completely devalue/eliminate our debt... and China loses trillions. Our debt is backed by our full FAITH and CREDIT, not our national assets. No, that's not a good thing... it would be horrible... but we really don't NEED China to function.

This is where bumper sticker politics tricks stupid people into being even more stupid.

Yep, MSM is great at that. Truth is China needs us more than we need China.

Did you just wake up and begin to smell the coffee? Bailouts were common place under your boy Obama.

Anyone with even half a brain can see that Trump's tariffs are designed to make things better long term with China Trade Agreements. Before he took office we were basically paying their tariffs while they had none to pay from us. It was sort of like the old mobsters that stopped by your place of business to collect their "protection money" so you could keep your business running. We finally have a president that will stand up to them for us. It takes a little bit of time, but in the long run it will be better for the country.

By the way CB ...... most people aren't aware of this, but soybean prices were down 50% the day that Trump took office. That was on Obama. Trump is trying to fix it for the farmers (as well as other businesses and industries) going forward.

Trump says you're welcome!

lol...Yahoo News. Does anyone even use Yahoo anymore? I left long ago when the hard left leaning Yahoo "news" feed got so ridiculously slanted that it simply ceased to be even remotely useful as a home page.

"Yahoo" and "News" should never be used together as one has nothing to do with the other. 04-cheers

Me too. Used to be my main mail but even using their SPAM tools, I now LITERALLY have 124,610 pieces of unread email in my main Inbox. I don't know what their retention policy is but I suspect I'm pushing it. I'll ask Hillary to address it for me.
