That is one big man gone, and the kid from Alabama looks to be headed to Ohio St. Where are the two bigs? We seem to have no problem, getting guards. Most of ODU is 1,2, & 3's. At this time of the signing period, I don't see any great talent coming of big players.

Ohio State signed a 7 footer on April 14. Wouldn't be so sure about Giddens going there. He hasn't signed anywhere yet as far as I can tell.

We have Dickens and Ezikpe getting almost all the minutes at the 5; probably should look moreso at a developmental big that could sit a year.

Make that two big recruits, gone. Giddens went to Vermont. Does that surprise anybody? Lower teams normally out recruit ODU.

Looks like we lost a 2020 recruit as well. ECU lands 2020 7-footer Derrick Quansah. Quansah is the first commit for ECU in the 2020 class, he had offers from ODU, South Carolina Upstate, Western Carolina and was receiving interest from UConn

I think it's time to disband the basketball program. We obviously don't know what we're doing

Considering bluelight didn't know JJ had signed multiple 3* recruits, the answer is no.

Maybe your were mislead, by my comment on 1,2 & 3. I was talking about position, not ability!

I was referencing this post, where you don't mention position in relation to your criticism of JJ not landing 3* recruits. And as noted, he has brought in multiple.

Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2019
My concern is that we have to start from scratch every year and start players with 0 experience with our system. I think JJ is a good coach, but this strategy is infuriating. I'd like to see what he could do with a starting 5 that is capable, have been playing together, and know their roles and responsibilities from day 1. That's the kind of stuff that separates the men from the boys. We already have to train a new PG. Frankly, I'd rather get a project or give the scholarship to a walk on and ride Zip and Dickens than bring in someone for a year anyway.

Who’s to say players would stay for all four years anyway? Those days seem to be over. Look at Porter. Teach him, work him, groom him for three years, then at money time with a veteran squad~ poof, last second he’s gone. It’s happening all over. UVA has a set of twins coming in for a visit from Marquette this weekend . It’s just the way it is now.

Porter did what he did because he had also finished his school work at ODU. To me, dont redshirt players because basically youre paving the way for them as a senior to leave without having to sit. Dont redshirt, and let the best play. If someone isnt happy with their playing time, they'll transfer and have to sit but at the same time, they werent playing much anyways.

I know its not as black and white as this but I dont like the thought of redshirting players anymore because loyalty is a thing of the past. Just think how ****** we wouldve been if Kent left for his final year? Thankfully, he stayed loyal.

We'll see what Xavier Green does next year. If he continues to improve and take the reigns of this team, he could very well draw interest for playing time at P5s as a graduate transfer.

Sounds like the staff should encourage him to take a smaller class load this year.

His stats are not very inspiring. Hopefully not another European big man who doesn't contribute.
