I really hope that happens soon. Like before the 2020 season. It will simply look unfinished until then in my opinion.

Couldn’t agree more.

I just noticed this morning that the arches are up on the east side.

Sweet. I'm going to try and check it out before the spring game.

For those of us that don't get out to Norfolk as often as we used to we appreciate the pics! =]

Thank you! It's been very difficult to get looks at the east side entrance. I like it what I see.

FWIW Department. I was told the rebuild has had some significant cost over runs and this may delay the start of phase 2. I also was told the new scoreboard has been purchased already, but not sure of install date, probably not this year but next
New filed will probably be installed after NSU game.
East side should be completely finished in time for NSU, but West side will need some finishing touches.

Sorry the photo came out a little blurry. I can't upload super high res on my cell network. I can try again later at home if anybody wants to see the Norfolk Seal in greater detail.

RE: NEW stadium construction
Thanks for the photos Ghent Fan. The more I see of the construction the more confident I become that S.B. Ballard Stadium will be the perfect counterpoint to The Ted. This is going to be a great stadium for our program.

There has been zero indication that the stadium will not be done in time for the first game

It will be used for the first game, just not entirely complete.

Why buy a scoreboard now for installation in a year? Anyone ever heard of Moore's Law?

RE: NEW stadium construction
UAB just secured $25 million dollars for naming rights to it's stadium. Any idea what Ballard paid? $25 million would likely build a nice end zone and some suites too. How long is Ballard's name attached to the stadium?

I think the official donation from Ballard was $2.5 million. No clue if he cut costs or anything else to help the school out.

I'm pretty sure he's allowed Bobby and staff to use his private jet for recruiting? And he gives a lot annually.
