So, Louisville lost by 10 to Minnesota...
...interesting strategy, Cotton. I wonder if it will work out for them?

RE: 2019 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
I expected a R32 exit so today was disappointing. When the worst three point shooting team (Minnesota) among all power conference schools makes less than 5 three’s a game on the year but drills 11 today, tough to win. Their power forward who only made six shots from deep all season swished multiple 3’s.
I think UofL could play Minnesota 20 times and they wouldn’t hit like that again. As can happen in March though, teams sometimes execute in a way they haven’t all season.
We’ll see if UofL has any transfers or early departures, but the Cards lose only one main cog (PG Cunningham) to graduation and Mack brings in the #2 recruiting class with 5 Top 100 guys.

RE: 2019 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Disappointing end to the Cards' season no doubt. BUT ... we overachieved to get where we were. Our starting backcourt were 5th year grad transfers from Samford and Richmond. Our starting power forward was a local kid who transferred back home from UNC Asheville. We were an assemblage of cast-offs and reaches ... and we had some nice moments this year.
I think the future looks bright, brighter than it has in quite a while. Even with the black cloud of the FBI hanging over the program (and a bunch of other schools too).
I'll be cheering on the conference from here on out. Unless Virginia starts to struggle with Gardner Webb ... I can't promise my allegiance won't switch if it looks like a repeat of last year could happen.

Are you frigging kidding me, U.Va? WTF is the matter with you? Do the Cavs need an exorcist in the locker room at halftime? Lose a 1-16 matchup once and I'm a little sympathetic to you. I don't even know what to say about doing it two years in a row. You're not playing Duke. You're playing Gardner Webb, for God's sake!

Last year it was the UMBC Retrievers.
This year it's the G-Webb Bulldogs.
Apparently Cavaliers are afraid of dogs?

Thank God that we aren't playing Lehigh or Mercer. That would be embarassing.

Congrats to UVa. Wahoowa doesn't have to disappear for 4 months like last year.

I apologize for not posting every time we beat the hokies. Or commenting about the sweep this year. Buzz does seem to have gotten a handle on his sweating problem, that might help him at TAMU.

Are you talking to GTS? Minnesota seems to confound ACC schools. But we did boat race those Chickens.

Since you are obviously fishing for a compliment, congratulations on UVA's win over a #16 seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It's the Wahoos' first NCAAT victory in 2 whole years, and I think maybe their first EVER over a pesky 16-seed.

no mention of the first ACC tourney win? FSU. We just can't get credit.

Yep. Noles looked good. Hope they go far. I have them in my Final Four (not on purpose, it just worked out that way).

How did Syracuse sound when they got thrashed?
I think Conan knows. It involves the lamentations of women.

If FSU didn't have 3-4 injuries right now, I would say we aren't far off. But our PG is at 60% and Cofer is out. Those are 2 of our best players. Nichols (backup PG) is also walking wounded.
