UAB loses to Brown. This has been a frustrating night for the conference.

From the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, RI:
Brown 83, UAB 78.

And from Willett Hall in Farmville, VA:

RE: CUSA Postseason Discussion
WKUFan518 is exactly right. These low-mid schools were playing at home. Post season tourney of ANY kind was a big deal to them. Our teams walked right into a trap. What a mistake and mess. Sorry it happened but you could have seen this was a possibility.

Im not frustrated, neither UAB or USM even bid for a home game so who cares. They deserved to get their ass bounced.

What a fuckin disgrace. I would've stayed home rather than playing this crap even worse losing to these stupid schools. I guess there is a reason why fuckin NCAA doesn't value our conference much. Suddenly our seeding in the tourney seems like a fair decision.

This entire sports year has been a cluster f for CUSA....Football not as good,TV for basketball has been a joke with games on 8 different platforms the most die hard fans can barely keep up with....Teams not as good in basketball and to cap it off we have teams going to play at Longwood with a losing record and brown....I was feeling good about ODU keeping streak alive but now I almost certain Purdue runs them out of arena...I dont think any of our teams were good this year in hoops....

RE: CUSA Postseason Discussion
Southern Miss’s worst margin of defeat of the season, 22 points, occurs against a 15–17 team that shot lights out. Field goals: 30/57 (52.6%), 3-pointers: 18/34 (52.9%), and Free throws: 12/13 (92.3%).

And Southern Miss, the best shooting team in the conference, had a mediocre shooting game. Field goals: 22/53 (41.5%), 3-pointers 10/29 (34.5%), and Free throws: 14/20 (70%). If we had shot like this against Marshall we probably lose by 20 instead of win by 9.

I feel bad for Griffin. A terrible way to end his college career. An uncle dies days before his last game and Griffin shoots 2/8 (25%).

Its better to not play a post season tournament than to lose to Longwood by 22

I think you’re right.

I also think we (Marshall) are going back down the ladder next year. I can easily see a 14-17 type year next season for us in 2019. Sorry guys, we’re going to suck.

I’m not seeing it, we lose a lot of backcourt talent.

Wow. Just found out what it took to get to Farmville for the game.

“The Southern Miss basketball team had to take 2 flights and had 3.5 hours worth of bus rides to get to Farmville.”–Patrick Magee

Maybe the team should’ve left as soon as the bid was accepted. LOL

Farmville is no joke. I have all of Virginia in my territory. About an hour and a half south of Richmond, or an hour east of Lynchburg.

Beautiful countryside. But the name of the town is completely apt.

I knew when you booked them this would probably happen. The travel is killer.

Flying into Richmond isn’t easy. No direct flights usually. Also, they just found out Monday they needed to book the travel.

I saw this coming. I have the same travel problems. I’ll drive 9 hours or have to take 7 to 8 hours of flights to make the necessary connections just to get to Richmond from Lexington.

No one made UAB and Southern Miss accept an invite and travel thousand miles to play bad opponents for no reason at all..BOth teams would have been better off to end season, same will be said for FAU tomorrow night after they lose.....

RE: CUSA Postseason Discussion
What the heck?!? I know my team may lose tommorow, but no CUSA team should ever lose to Longwood. If you aren’t going to try, just don’t participate. Our teams just got beat by two less talented squads. Ugly look for the conference. But hey, Alabama just lost to NSU, so stuff happens.
