I did add that these averages used "announced" attendance figures.

I see that great basketball support in Tulsa battling it out with ECU for next to last in the conference - and ECU will pass them by next season with what Dooley is doing. Suppose reality, forever, is tough to accept.

I have faith Dooley can get a big but if he can’t, expect more of the same from ECU next year.

I expect SMU’s numbers to tank next year. Would be nice to see bumps from USF and ECU. Everyone else should hold pretty steady.

our turnstile count was ~9000 per game

tickets sold is what matters to our bottom line.

ECU would be a great landing spot for a grad transfer big -- either a small conference stud looking for a step up in competition or a solid role player at a top program who was recruited over and wants a chance to start.

Anybody thats even been halfway paying attention knows that announce numbers are not the same as actual butts in the seats. I will say that over last year Memphis has sold two million dollars more in tickets.

1) Memphis: 15,994 (Entire Season Average: 15,101)

Per the Commercial Appeal on Memphis Tiger's actual attendance this year and last year:

"Memphis averaged 8,813 fans, according to the turnstile count figures obtained by The Commercial Appeal through an open records request. That's up from 4,583 last season when the university missed out entirely on the $800,000 payment for the first time after attendance hit historic lows."

As Bob Uecker would say about their "announced" figures":

PS. I knew last year was bad...didn't realize it was THAT bad.

The Tigers used the standard method when calculating announced attendance.

Quote: ...all purchased season tickets, single-game tickets bought for Friday’s game, and all credentialed personnel – which included everyone from university staff to media, according to Steve Macy, senior associate athletic director, external affairs.

Macy said U of M officials not only consulted with other schools in the American Athletic Conference about calculating attendance, but programs in other conferences including the SEC.

Daily Memphian

The Tiger attendance for Griz payment purposes was made available from an open records request by an enterprising reporter.

What is the actual attendance for your school?

What is the actual attendance for your school?

Does that include all the freebies and discounts handed out this year?

10,195 seems about right for butts in seats too. few hundred empty seats in most games. Not bad for a down year.
