Texas State started the ninth with runners at first and second with 0 outs, but the Jags get out of the jam and clinch the series. Jags win 1-0.

Gave up the one run with a HBP, sac bunt, passed ball, squeeze....

Bobcats 8 hits, Jags 4, TXST starter goes the distance but takes the loss.

Sac fly and single scores them both. 3-1 Bobcats.

Bobcats lead 4-1 in the 8th and still batting. Bullpen crumbling for the Jags. Bobcat starter still pitching at around 4000 pitches.

Bobcats up 8-2 in the 9th and still batting. Our bullpen has really let us down in this one.

Ha. He threw right at 100 which I'm ok with this time of year.

I do think we over-extended McMahon yesterday letting him get up to about 115 though.

Good competitive series. See you guys in Conway in May.

Edit: Oh yeah, Bobcats win 8-2

Sweep for Red Wolves at Troy...finish it off 10-4. Troy normally has our number but not this weekend.

We’re not a great offensive team this year, but I was very impressed with your starters all weekend.

I said it on our board earlier. We're gonna win a lot of Sunday games. Our weekend rotation is deep.

You’re going to win a lot of games period with that rotation. Mark Calvi mentioned after the game that he expects you guys to win the West. I agree, you guys are a dangerous team this year.

They are going to have to do something they struggle to do, beat Astate or UL first

Very true. Both teams are not like normal so far this year.

RE: Weekend Baseball - 3/15-3/17
RPI:

Coastal: 10
GS: 27
Texas State: 57
South Alabama: 63
Ark State: 86
UTA: 93
Louisiana: 113
ULM: 161
Georgia State: 173
Troy: 178
App: 213
Little Rock: 218

Of course GS is benefiting from having the RPI #2 strength-of-schedule in the country, and that won't last long.

Our offense is legitimately very good this year and pitching has been consistent though not amazing. I don’t know if we have the depth to keep this up all season, but it’s been fun to watch so far.

Our hitting is starting to come around— up to .261 team average now. It was .201 about a week ago. We do have a number of quality pitchers although our #1 has been inconsistent so far

RE: Weekend Baseball - 3/15-3/17
Since I know people will be curious about this all year

After 1 week the East is 7-5 against the West. Most of that is the product of Astate’s sweep of Troy, which made up for ULM getting destroyed by Coastal.
