checking TV listings...I still see some potential open spots man.
Tennis on ESPN2 during the TXST game
NFL News on ESPN2 during the Louisiana game
Fishing and cheerleading shows around 10am on ESPN2 can be potentially replaced with SBC semi games if we play earlier

If our league is willing to be flexible, perhaps some of our game can replace those useless talk shows before noon on the main ESPN channel. Steven A. Smith's ramblings and the reruns of SportsCenter can take a break for few days.

It's not about our league trying to be flexible. It's about ESPN having all the power. They tell us that we are going to put our title game at 1pm on Sunday the 17th, and that's when our game is played.

Our tournament package includes the guarantee of the Final on ESPN2. To give you an idea of what ESPN thinks of us, they didn't even leave open the possibility of televising any other game of the tournament. Those are guaranteed ESPN Plus games and can't be moved. Tournament games are not like regular season games and can't be flexed. ESPN has no desire at all to televise SBC Basketball, they'd rather televise Stephen A Smith every day of the week and twice on Sunday's

This is ESPN's world, we all just live in it.

that's depressing. MAC and CUSA at least receive some tournament coverages on CBSSN. Im assuming we signed an exclusive deal with ESPN...so back to venting about this neglected step-child treatment...

Our agreement with ESPN for non-championship games to be in ESPN+ because they want to drive viewership to that service. It's not about us. It's about getting more people to their new service

Perhaps when the P5s finally break away for good, that’s how they’ll title the two new divisions... FBS, and FBS-ESPN+

I agree, hard to imagine tennis or Stephen A drawing more viewers than ANY college basketball. Whether it's a conference tournament, regular season game, or even a non major conference game, I would still rather watch college basketball over those other options.

I'm really starting to hate ESPN. First, we get relegated to a monthly pay app instead of ESPN 3 that was available to anyone with a TV package, and now we can't get air time over crap programming.

With the tourney set-up (which I support) it will be really hard for anyone seeded below 4 to win the tourney. But if there is a team who could I think that team would be ULM

CUSA doesn’t have a deal with ESPN. CBS has all the rights to the tournament so both their semis and final are on CBSSN. MAC has a more established tournament than we do and can sell secondary rights easier

Comparing Major Conference teams to Mid-Majors right now:
Seems pretty much every major conference school has a higher NET rating than RPI.
Seems pretty much every mid-major conference school has a higher RPI than NET rating.

The move to NET obviously seems to be bad for mid-majors.

South beats A-State.
ULM beats App.

Top 8 head to New Orleans.

On the bright side our athletic department saved a ton of cash not having to finance quick trips to Nola for its staff.

How much did you spend sending your girls to Coastal Carolina on one days notice? I was afraid our men might have to do that. Did they bus 12 and a half hours on Sunday or did they fly? Really is a crazy expense that the conference apparently provides no help with.

Flew, because they'd have to fly from there to NOLA if they won. Hopefully they made Boyer walk home.

Its a sign how far basketball has fallen here that neither of our teams made it to NOLA.

I was just thinking about the campus travel for the conference tournament. I feel like the conference has to be helping out with some of the travel if they are going to do campus sites. It's not like we are a conference that has everyone in a nice general area.
