Petty announcer question from the Cincy game
What’s the deal with the young guy doing the game the other day?

Maybe it’s just me but he kept pronouncing Martin and Brewton, Mar-in and Brew-in? What’s the deal with that?

03-confused

Plenty of areas in the country that drop their Ts. Just his accent showing.

Seems odd and ridiculous, actually. Maybe it’s because I’m old. Did anyone even notice it?

Probably a good idea. If that guy does anymore of our games I’ll certainly follow your lead.

The ESPN analyst, John Thompson Jr., does a great job on our games. He's called quite a few this season so he's very familiar with us plus he does his homework.

Agreed. He’s fantastic. One of the very best IMO. I’m with ya.

I wonder if the other guy called him John Ompson?

I didn't notice.

Agree with UofMark that JT III has improved and does a good job on our games.

There is a delay on the radio plus you might think you are watching a different game with Wolo calling the plays.

It gives you about a 5 second head start. I hear "Martin hits the 3" and I am looking at the screen, not at the clock or the kids or the pets or whatever else might draw my eyes.

I agree. I don't know what the rest of you are watching, but it seems Thompson lacks basic basketball knowledge sometimes. It makes me wonder how he was ever a head coach.

He does know some about our players. Is that why some of you like him? Otherwise, I just don't get it.

Yep it was a tad bothersome, but not even close to making me listen to Wolo.

Kind of like Southerners that drop the 'g' at the end of words.

Complaining vs Complainin'

Yeah. Seems like he has taken the time to interview the guys. Knows their backgrounds. Drops in some anecdotes during the telecast.

I notice the youngsters these days leaving out the t in lots of words. Don’t get it. Like they can’t rea or something.
