Kinda USM-related since they both played here...Tyrone was secondary coach in Blacksburg..(oh yeah...write-up indicates Va Tech's secondary was horrible...I like Coach Nix a lot but why is he still a semi-hot commodity on the coaching market?)

It didn't say what he'd be coaching at Ole Miss.

I think I read somewhere that he would be the LB coach.

What seems to be the trend on Tyrone Nix...seems to do good the first 2 years then tanks in year 3 and/or 4

South Carolina
- Coach Nix began his tenure at South Carolina in 2005 as co-defensive coordinator and impressed HC Steve Spurier
- Fired/let go/left after 2007 season

Ole Miss
- 2008 Nix had Ole Miss defense ranked among the national leaders in points per game
- 2011 Let go when Ole Miss fired their HC

MTSU
- 2012 Nix improved the defense tremendously in his first year on the job
- He was fired December 28, 2016

Virginia Tech
- 2018 Va Tech's secondary was horrible.

To be fare, VT entire defense was horrible. Especially the front, which forced the secondary to run protect very often.
