Injuries happen to every team every year. It's how you adapt and overcome that separates the good from the bad. In year 4 under Ehsan we are still very bad. He's got to go.
When he goes will be the interesting story line. Probably not at the end of the this year. We don't have the money. He will just have to coach out his lame duck season next year and then get the axe.
Yep. Let's all hope he doesn't find a way to win next year so that Ingram can can him.

He still doesn't use his personnel right.
In the Charlotte game, 2nd half, Sullivan was the only guy scoring at the time and coach took him out. Perhaps Sullivan needed a breather, but I just shook my head.

This. It’s the reason he should’ve shaken up his bench coaches last year. Time for an elder statesmen, or Ehsan will go the way of BGV.

Also think a future coaching search should include former blazers if there's such a list. Probably should've gone with someone that one of the past players suggested instead of current guys.

I agree Dee. I didn't like the Ehsan hire because we were doing so to cater to the players. I said at the time that this one was on the boosters and not Ingram, and I still believe that to be true. We all knew going into the season that if Butler got hurt and none of the young bigs developed, we were screwed. Well, guess what happened?
I still think we have quality players on this roster, we are just missing any sort of depth, and that is definitely showing the past few weeks.

RE: Lovan -Charlotte Game
I was very big on Ehsan when we hired him but the fact of the matter is he has to go! Great guy. Have nothing but good things to say about his character and the way he carries himself. But it just isn't going to work. Its time for a big name. We are just gonna have to come up with the money. We need a coach that will go to Gang Green meetings and invite students to come and join. Walk the hallways get students involved. Yeah you might have to give out free pizza or food but get them involved. Once weekly meetings would help with coaches in attendance. I was a student just 5 years ago. The showing wasn't amazing but it was 150% better than this. I feel like there is a disconnect from this staff and the students. I live about 1hr away from Bham and work a 50 hr week job but I still make time for my Blazers. Always have and always will.

It may indeed be time for a change, but let's don't forget the alternatives to Ehsan we were presented with at the time of his hire by Ingram. Those were worse. Will Ingram find us the right coach that will be significantly better? I have doubts.

Haase had a fortunate conference tournament winning streak one season.
Next season he won a ton of games & lost in the tournament.
Yet, attendance sucked every year under Haase and even worse under Ehsan.
What kind of magic do you believe any new coach has that would draw decent crowds?
Just isn't going to happen with anyone without a conference move up by UAB.

RE: Lovan -Charlotte Game
Attendance wasn't great under Haase but his last season at UAB it wasnt terrible. A lot more students were showing up.
Looked it up. Our avg Haase's last season was like 4945. Highest it's been since 2011, which I believe was our one NCAA year under Davis. It's tanked this year.

Or winning games and going to the NCAA consistently. Shouldn’t be hard to do in this conference

If we go unproven coach in training again, is rather it be a guy like Mo Finley since he's recruited to UAB. Sure he can find a scheme from Anderson to euro ball.

Murry Bartow would be a good hire. Would bring the Faithful Back. Evan when he was a announcer at the games seems as if the Blazers played better dang that's good. If UCLA does not keep him for their own.

What the... if we learned anything from Ehsan it’s that blazertalk can’t pick a coach

For documentation, is it Murry or Andy or both?

I dont know if Kennedy is the answer but he's obviously worth a look. The big question is who else would be interested. Im always in favor of top assistants who are known as excellent recruiters at quality programs. I think getting a guy who has done it at the midmajor level would also be a plus.

Can’t live off of Richie Riley recruiting the 2014 class forever. We’ve landed one player ready for D1 ball since then, in Zack Bryant, that wasn’t a former D1 transfer(Perry). So we’ve added Bryant and Perry in 3 years. We should have a roster respectable enough that guys like Lovan should get to redshirt their freshman year.

Agreed. I think a guy from the Mark Few or Gregg Marshall coaching tree would be where I'd look first.
