Thats not what happened. They secretly met. At that point, brief and/or inconsequential or not, Schiff, a member of the intelligence committee, had a duty to self-report the encounter. He did not. It was not only until later, when busted, did he attempt to explain lie about what happened.

Which is why the intelligence committee is troubled by this.
