RE: 2019 Spring Roster is Up
Does Drake Davis have to sit a year? I think he is a walk on at Ill and if he’s not on scholarship do transfer rule apply?

Yes; D1 -> D1 = Required to sit out (unless you're a graduate).

I am interested in the Oline make up this year. Two long time starters gone. Another rotation guy/starter transferred. We lost center and left tackle to graduation. most important positions on the Oline.

RE: 2019 Spring Roster is Up
I'm guessing they move Perez to center which is his natural position, and Patton would be the logical candidate at left guard since he has some starts there. Left tackle will be interesting, maybe Hawn and Dassow battling it out there but who knows. Maybe Randy can tell us what the pre-spring two deep looks like.

I am interested in our DB's , I feel we pushed the panic button on recruiting WR's and brought a bunch in for this class, but did not address a bigger need, our DB.s
4 of our CB's are gone with 3 of them having contributed greatly. Also, the reason we got exposed against UAB is cause Embry did not suit up. With much of the focus on the offense, the reason for our defensive woas, was much overlooked.

I am in the camp that thinks Perez could make an excellent center.

I wonder if they'll have an actual spring game this year.

We will definitely be young at CB but Haney, Walker and McKie all played a bunch last year. Thompson is highly rated and you have Harris and Hall from last years class too. Regarding Hall, wonder if the new staff will move him to offense. He seems small for safety.

The only guy I like out of the bunch is McKie. I think Hall would be a good corner, he has the speed and quickness to do it. I think we are more thin a DB then we are at WR.

It would be nice if Liam Soraghan turns into a player. At 6'7" he would be a nice target. Have no idea how he looked last season but he just has the size you like.

They recruited heavy last year at CB. One of them played at the end of the year (Antwan Walker). Mind you he got beat a lot, but he was a true freshman. New incoming recruit Tyrik Henderson could also see some time at CB this year. He’s already enrolled for the spring. The secondary will be young but there’s talent there.

How is Jawon Denton playing defensive end at 204lbs. ? That’s extremely undersized even for a LB. He looks more like a WR if anything.

Yes; D1 -> D1 = Required to sit out (unless you're a graduate).
Seems to me that this would be a perfect situation to appeal to the NCAA. Doesn't seem fair that he wasn't receiving the financial benefit of being on scholarship but he still has to still out a year after transferring. He should be considered a true free agent.

Exactly. That rule shouldn’t apply to a walk-on

RE: 2019 Spring Roster is Up
Matt Ference, stellar punter, is back, but I see only John Richardson, R-Fr., listed as kicker. Andrew Gantz is done. Am I missing someone, or is Northern going to put Richardson up front? I thought that's why Gantz was brought in. Correct me if getting another K is not some kind of priority. Or can Ference and Richardson back up each other?
