It's now being reported by Tom Loy that Denbrock has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Kansas job.

Not saying you cannot win with it if you have the right guys, but he's not necessarily a pass first guy which seems to be the flavor of the day in the b12. I wouldn't move to Kansas Toto.

Les Miles isn't going to be running the air raid offense at Kansas. He has always championed a pro style offense-- in fact he unwillingness to change his offensive schemes is part of the reason he was fired at LSU.

Yep, and that's likely a reason he will be another flame out at Kansas.

Was hoping Vince Morrow would be able to get a spot on Days staff at OSU. If he is gonna recruit the hell out of Ohio, may as well do it for them and gove us one less competition.

Smart man. In the last ten years KS was 23-97 and since 1996 they have had 3 winning seasons.

A good guy, a good coach, and I wish him the best but glad it's him and not Denbrock or Freeman. We need stability and continuity when I think back to the previous regime...

Joker is a good guy, but we were unlikely to keep him long term as a position coach unless we promoted him. It’s a loss, but not a big one.

It will hurt in recruiting more than anything but we'll be fine.

Joker is 55. I mean at this point in your life, do these coaches still want to be serial job hopping as round the country? I doubt he is ever going to land back as a HC anywhere, oh well.

6th job in 8 years. Just got divorced so he has no roots any where. Ex-wife was college professor.

Position coaches are like nomads- it comes with the territory. Rarely does anyone stay anywhere for more than a few years, unless they are at the very top of the food chain and even then they will leave if a coordinator job opens up elsewhere.

Thanks, Doss, for the creepy background check on our former WR coach's ex...

Yeah, but leaving UC for Maryland is an odd career move. Sounds like change for the sake of change.

Particularly when this staff is clearly on the way up in the coaching world. If he had stayed here for two more years he'd probably be invited along to wherever Fickell goes next. Wherever that is, it's clearly better than Maryland.

Don't disagree. Wonder if there is more to the story, such as his personal life as someone addressed above (looking for a change of scenery) or maybe he is BFF's with their HC Mike Locksley.

Speaking of Maryland, what is the deal with Butch Jones? I thought he was going there as an Associate HC. Doesn't appear to have happened.

The point was that while he was still married to a Georgetown KY prof UC and UK and other area schools offered a hook to keep him you jerk.
