I think this list shows how out of wack UCF tix prices are for hoops:

Cheapest conf game tix prices per team: (school ticket website, not 3rd party sites that might offer cheaper selections)

Memphis: $7
usf: $7
SMU: $7
Houston: $10 (in newly renovated smaller 7,000 seat arena as old arena sat 8,000)
ECU: $10 Youth (Adult $20)
UCONN: $10 in Hartford, $33 at Gampel Pavillion on campus
Temple: $13.50
Tulane: $15
Tulsa: $15
Cincinnati: $20 (new arena close to sold out most conf games)
UCF: $20
Wichita State: $40 (most of the arena is sold out season tix)

Does the Administration provide an explanation for the pricing? In theory, a fuller house helps the home team, adds to concession revenue, and allow fans of lesser means to afford a live game.

At Memphis, the $7 seats have the worse vantage point in a big arena so value is retained in charging more for better seats. For example, I use to hold season tickets in the rafters where an extra charge (the TSF) did not apply, but later I bought tickets with a better view despite the hefty (for me anyway) cost increase.

However, there is the danger of devaluing the event by lowering prices too far.

We play in the largest arena in this conference, by far (18,000+), and are starting to fill it up again, but it will take a bit longer to get cheap seat prices up. Some of the nosebleed seats are in the next county, lol. You have to watch the big screen or use binoculars to see what's happening on the floor.

But you can bet the lower bowl is expensive as hell. With big donations required.

We have the largest ***** in the conference. The penises of the other schools in this conference are, on average, only 48% as large.

Okay a handful and a bit. But still 9 out of 18, and it is NOT their regular home court. So take the 10K and add the 16K and divide by two. FEF is still 5K bigger, 18K vs. an average of 13K. That qualifies as "by far."

Btw, UConn didn't play a single true road game this season until conference play.
