Off-topic: I'm curious as to how high Buffalo can go. Can they get a #2 Seed?

Jerry Palm hates us every year.
I have noted this over the years as well. Does anyone know why he always rates UC lower than others?
I don’t know but you’d think he’d tire of being wrong every year. He loses at least two seed lines on UC each year. Probs his B1G bias. Hates that uc is better in major sports than Purdue typically.

Probably best we come in and an 8 to 11 range. That way if and when we lose in the first weekend it’s pretty much expected at that point. Rather do that then be a two seed and not make it out of the first weekend

If we get an 8 or 9 seed, I probably won't even watch the UC game honestly. No reason in getting hopes up when we'll get run-ruled by Duke/Michigan/Tennessee etc.

I would take my chances against Michigan in Columbus. I think UC fans and general I hate Michigan fans in Ohio could turn that into a hostile crowd. Once an underdog gets momentum its hard to stop.

Like last year in Nashville...
Or 2016 in Spokane
Or 2014 in Spokane
Or 2013 in Philly
Or 2011 in DC

I amend that, I would watch until I was certain we'd do what we always do, then change to the game that is most exciting in the given timeslot.

is he wrong? last four in seems about right for this squad
I was about to say this as well. 11 really isn't that far off IMO. I think they are anywhere from a 9 to 11 at this point. And with the remaining schedule and how UC has played lately I would say there is a very strong chance this ends up a bubble team.

I'll be honest with you, i do not think there are a lot of strong teams this year. I think we're low 30's in the rpi right now, 15 and 3. If we finish near the top of the league and finish 22/9 or 23/8, we'd still likely be top 30 rpi. That doesn't typically translate to last 4 in, particularly with the field horses i see out there right now.

This. On the football side, always noticed he projects us to go to the worst bowl matchups vs. a Sunbelt.
Several year ago when we were still in the Big East, I heard him on sports talk radio in Columbus speaking really ill of UC, and I am not just talking about being critical of the performance of a team, I'm talking hard criticisms of the athletic department/university as a whole that an XU fan or some nut job would throw out. It shocked me at the time because I knew he frequently was on down here with the local guys but I figured he was safe among friends out of town.

We're 15-3. We have 13 games left.
11 seeds usually have double digit losses. They're the last ones in.
I seriously doubt that we go 6-7 or worse from here.
I predict we end up 24-7 regular season, win a couple of AAC games and get a 6 seed.

Would probably need to win the league or conference tournament to get anywhere close to a six. 24-7 should make UC a lock but without a trip to finals the Cats are looking at no better than a seven.
This matters even more than overall record:
Cats have to beat Houston and UCF or sweep one of the two to make the tournament. If they don’t do that winning at Temple is a must. Basically no worse than two wins before tournament play against the top three teams. The other games are basically going to be for seeding as long as the total conference wins reaches 12. Who you beat is more important than you who lose to. Would rather lose to Memphis and SMU on road if it’s offset with wins at Temple and Houston. Want to win them all but tier 1 wins are more important.

Jerry "Creaming" Palm graduated from Purdue in 1985 with a computer science degree. He's just pissed at us because we beat his beloved football team twice and knocked out the hoops team in the first round NCAA recently. BTW, can you imagine the conversations of statistics and probabilities and metrics between him and BearcatMark? Pocket protectors would catch on fire...

RE: bracketology 1-15-2019
It truly is too early for seed projections, especially for many on this board. The AAC will likely have multiple teams represented in the Top 25. UC is on the doorstep, Houston is Top 20, and UCF is close. Whoever wins this league will have to go through those teams. We're not going to be a 7 seed if we win the league given the AAC's trajectory continues and recurves its due.

You wish.
