I hate ECU (and the other conference scrubs)
They have losses to James Madison, UNC-Wilmingron, High Point, and Charlotte. Yet we have to travel to their stupid arena and be their super bowl, and basically kill our resume. Its too bad our guys cant seem to get up for these games, I don't thimk Gary Clark would allow us to lose a game lile this.

It was like this in the Great Midwest and C-USA years with UAB, Charlotte, and St. Louis. Every conference road game is going to be a battle due to a number of factors. Thursday night is going to be a battle. UC better be ready or Tulsa is going beat them. Good news is that UC rarely loses two in a row.

Yes. We have lost two out three down there. Thankfully didn’t play last year. Only scored 55 in our only win down there since 2015.

Charlotte had some good teams back in CUSA...diego guevara comes to mind. They were ranked at times and the battles on the hardcourt were epic.

In a perfect world were UC is in a better conference, , ECU is the type of program we would only ever play a hand full of times OOC- usually a buy game. If you play any school enough times over the years, they will eventually get you. They are familiar with your schemes and personnel. Sometimes you have an off day.

Just another reason why we need out of this AAC

If we played in a better conference we would be lucky to win 70% of of our games. Teams lose conference games.

We crapped the bed and we need to own it.

Did anyone else read that as batteries on the hardcourt?

You have to be old enough to remember the coins and batteries thrown. : )
Charlotte was a very hostile environment when the 49ers were good under Lutz.

Ryan Fletcher returned fire and hit one of those bozos in the kisser with a basketball.

It was really really hostile and the refs and security didn't do much about it.

If we suck so badly and are such scrubs, you really ought not lose to us as often as you do.

I mean, it's really not our fault that your players and coaches can't figure out how to win at ECU. James Madison & High Point figured it out. Maybe the American ought to add them.

The Joe Dooley era is going to bring out a lot of tantrums like these from our AAC brethren.

I think both you and the original poster are right in different ways. Yes, it is sour grapes to lose a game then complain about how bad the team you lost to is. It also is frustrating that teams in the bottom of the conference kill the top teams' computer numbers by being terrible in the non-conference. That said, ECU has taken steps to improve their basketball program and Dooley has them heading in the right direction, so I see no need to pile on ECU anymore. You guys have a good thing going and I'm excited to see it.

Twice in 15 games equals often?

Look at the bright side, we'll likely be forecast in the rpi now to lose just about every road game which i doubt we will. No where to go but up. Fingers crossed! ha

According to kenpom UC is the favorite in all but two games the rest of the year (@Houston and @UCF). However, they are modest favorites in some of those games and their most likely record by that data is 12-6 in the league which would mean 5 more losses.

I'd say going 2-2 at Minges Coliseum in ECU's 4 years in the league is "often".

It's certainly a source of embarrassment for a program that has no business losing down there.
