As a North Texas fan, I think it is a combination of the two. North Texas is off to its best start in decades, that leads to our fans being very confident in what is happening within our program. But, North Texas fans have also been watching our team more closely then fans of other programs that have voted in this poll. I've watched some ODU games, and WKU games. Probably not enough to accurately gauge where they truly rank, but that is probably the case for everyone chiming in.

Here is what I believe... I have yet to see a C-USA team that I don't think we can compete with. Having said that, it is a long season, and injuries, suspensions, and team chemistry, at some point, will all come into play for probably every team. We will get a better understanding of what we are looking at after our game with LA Tech tonight.

People can comment on the quality of our schedule, but North Texas has yet to lose to a team it was favored to beat. Is there another team in C-USA that made it through their OOC without dropping a game they should win?

I appreciate the thoughtful response. Tonight should be fun. I am just wondering about your last statement - did NT win a game they were not favored? Winning games against lower competition and games you were favored in doesn't really tell us anything, other than you didn't screw up - which is great. I just disagree that's enough to be predicted as finishing #1.

I not the smartest person, but I’d guess he picked on UNT since all 4 UNT voters picked themselves first place. UNT has not had the schedule to be rated first IMO, although I do think UNT has a good team this year and should finish near the top

Woolridge was 4 points under his season average and shot .571, well above his season avg.
