I'm glad that UC's big donors don't have this kind of presence, at least publicly (not including Doss, of course). They may as well rename it University of Fertitta.

I don't know. I like their commitment to excellence personally.

Trustees and major donors who are that personally involved in the football program usually end up being more of a problem than a benefit. At best it creates a Texas type environment of privileged "big cigars" who treat the AD as one of their companies and at worst you end up with something like SMU or Louisville.

That is how stuff like recruiting violations and NCAA penalties happen.

Word out of Columbus is that Greg Schiano will be not back as defensive coordinator at tOsU next year.

So you're telling me OSU will have a new coach, new QB, and a new defensive scheme when the Bearcats head to Columbus on week 2 of the season?

Speaking of OSU, man their recruiting has really fallen off since it was announced Urban wouldn't be back.

Maybe Adam ElGammal will return to Cincinnati once he realizes what a train wreck the U is.

I thought I heard one commentator on the radio (ESPN) say "This is not the way Mark Richt wanted to end his tenure." following the loss today. I am not sure about the veracity of my statement (hence the question mark)… It just caught me off guard.

Comment from Blake James (Miami AD) following the game:

"Our football team's performance tonight – and at other times this season – is simply unacceptable to all of us who love The U," he wrote. "I am committed to getting UM football back to national prominence and that process is underway. We will compete for ACC and national championships and I know that Coach Richt is alongside me in that commitment to excellence."

He's not going anywhere.

I think he already signed. Since their coach is apparently staying, there is no reason for Miami to release him from his LOI. That's just fine with me, though... let him live with that decision.

I sure wish UC had someone like Tilman Fertita who had that kind of money and passion for UC FB and BB.

Miami is probably already on the phone with Tommy T after their defensive performance.

Or T. Boone Pickens @ Oklahoma State...$1 billion and counting.

They do, but they're too busy threatening to take UC to court for expecting them to pay for their FB club seat commitment. 07-coffee3

Reports are that UH is firing Major Applewhite. Dana Holgorsen is the leading candidate to replace him

Why would he take that job? Is there a decent barber in Houston?

Because Dana is on the WVU hot seat.

Holgy was looking at the Texas Tech job a few weeks back. Sounds like he knows his time in Morgantown is coming close to an end.

Sounds sort of Tubervillian.
