Just bring plenty of money. It will cost you. The only thing we don't charge for is the air that you breathe. Also, everyplace is crowded this time of year. Other than that you should have fun.
Everyone has themselves convinced of their theories as to why conference a, b, or c is perfect for their school and why their school is a no brainer add. For example;
Dear ACC,
Temple is in one of the biggest media markets in the country. Temple has one of the richest traditions in college hoops AND some of the best facilities in the northeast. Even in one of our worst stretches ever, we've only finished under .500 once, and that was 5 years ago. We're in one of the best recruiting turfs in hoops and would be able to convince any Philly recruit to stay here and play against Duke and UNC every year. Football has been one of the most consistent programs of the AAC schools over the past 10 years and are playing in a 4th straight bowl (one we are planning on stomping your precious Dukies in). We'd help fill out your northeast footprint and that nice big hole between Syracuse and Charlottesville.
Always yours,
Temple
In reality, I just want Temple to convince UConn, Cincinnati, and Memphis to break and hang with Marshall, Buffalo, Army, Navy, and the schools in my signature. That way we get more than one drivable road game a year. That's really my most important factor. **** tv money.
Honestly I'm not entirely convinced if OU leaves the Big 12 (and whatever other team, Kansas for example), I'm not entirely convinced that Texas will even leave. Texas LOVES to be the top dog in their conference and any other conference they would just be one of many... Big Ten, SEC, even the Pac-12 as they would be outsiders in away. I don't think they would want this at all. They were in the SWC for years as the Big dog without OU and would continue as top dog in the Big 12 after OU. Heck OU and another team leaving might be the best for long term stability as they would be forced to expand by likely 4 teams and get into those other states/markets which would be more lucrative long term. As someone said the Big 12 has a contract with the CFP which could be a factor as well. Texas could go the independent route also, but I just can't seem to see it. Independents are dwindling in numbers, not increasing. Likely only a matter of time before Notre Dame winds up in the ACC fully even. Question is if the powers that be want a P4 or a P5? I can't see a permanent break away of the P5 either. I feel a G5 autobid (one slot) to an 8 team playoff is more likely than the Big 12 falling apart.

Acc already has FL schools, NE schools, dumb schools and smart schools.
SEC doesn't realize the American conference exist.
Big 10 would require any of our schools to guarantee at least 10 million tv sets for there network. Plus they would take the state school, not a directional school.
PAC might need help with East coast times, but not sure they are willing to do that just yet.
By 2025 it like look this:
UC/UCONN: ACC
UCF, Memphis, UH: B12
Temple, ECU, USF, Navy: AAC with call ups from other G4's
USF isnt signing a GOR anytime soon. The number they would have to promise would have to be over $10 million a year and I doubt it will happen.
The Big 12 will not hold together after 2024/5. If there is going to be a GOR, then it would have to be for 5 years or include a penalty exit or a clause saying that the GOR is null and void if more than 1/3rd of the conference leaves.
There are reports that the Big 10 is interested in Texas and OU. They are real and serious discussions will happen when the time comes. There are sports writers who will claim that this cant happen due to different bylaws but its all BS. A bylaw in the B10 can be set aside by a simple vote and the value that those two teams brings is worth it.
I hear people through out things like it will be Kansas to the Big 10 and I laugh. Kansas was talking with the Big East about coming to it when it looked like the B12 was crumbling. They along with Missou wanted into the Big 10. Kansas has talked to the Big 10 twice and both times has been turned down. Now a new member needs to bring $50 million in value and kansas doesnt have it. Their best hope is the Pac 12 but then who do they pair them with? Not many options considering the Pac12s requirement for massive research expenditures. (thats how Utah and colorado got in)
After 2025 the schools with REAL problems are WVU, TCU, Baylor, ISU and KSU. They have no landing spots. None. Kansas has a prayer but its Pac 12 or "maybe" ACC. Tech and OSU need their big brothers to take them along, but if its the B10 calling, then they are screwed.
I tell ya though, I like the idea of the leftover 8. They can add 6 teams and make a pretty solid conference. If I were to guess BYU, Air Force, Houston, Cinci, USF, UCF are probably the ones most likely to be called up. Id prefer it was Memphis and Temple instead of BYU and AF, but since AF was already invited once, I think they have a good chance and BYUs ratings are top of the G5 most years.
Scheduling would be easy if they did it my way. Just move TCU to the East with the added 6 AAC teams. Done

Is this a star date? Will there even be football then, Captain Kirk?

I think that defeats the purpose of, and (more importantly) completely devalues, a GOR.

yeah, well I'm not 'most people'.
My mom told me I'm special.
Yes, yes you are special indeed. Now tighten your helmet strap and get that crayon out of your mouth.
Cant believe how many people are still on here. I walked away about a year ago and you're still here.
Was going to ask where you went lol.
Got tired of the uncontrolled UCF trolls. Decided to come back to see if it has gotten better.... so far, it doesnt seem much different. I liked them better when they went 0-12. A mild dose of humility made them bearable but now they are back in full force.
Cant wait till their program takes another downturn. I think its time for Cincy or Houston to take the mantle for a couple years.
