North Texas quarterback Mason Fine made the final home game of his junior season one to remember Thursday.
Fine suffered a cut on his left hand in the third quarter of the Mean Green’s game against Florida Atlantic before returning to help UNT hang on for a 41-38 win.
Fine said Tuesday that game won’t be his final appearance at Apogee Stadium. The Oklahoma native briefly considered transferring to play his senior season at another school but quickly dismissed the notion.

I believe his thought was, if Littrell left, he would either follow him or go to a P5 that needs a QB to contend for a conference title. Can't blame the guy for considering it, he just wants to play on the biggest stages. I think Fine's commitment to return could be a good indication Littrell will be back next season too.

This article was written by the beat writer from the local paper. We constantly harp on his lack of writing skills and writing mistakes. He also tends to report things in the most negative way possible.
The problem is he gives no context. What does "briefly" mean? Did he think "what would it be like to be at another school" for about 5 seconds? Was it because he thinks Seth may go somewhere and he may way to follow? Does it mean he was approached with an "unofficial" offer and he spend a few days thinking about it?
I'm pretty sure schools can't officially recruit players from another school but you can't legislate all of the unofficial ways. The reality that the rules only loosely apply to P5's who govern themselves is part of the issue.

Can the school block him from certain schools as a graduate transfer? Or was it determined he wasn't going to graduate, but transfer and sit out. UNT wouldn't let him follow Littrell.
There's nothing saying a college student cant change their mind....most do it every 30 minutes. So if Fine was thinking about it he will have about 7 or 8 months for the offers to come in. There will be offers, maybe not by a coach or asst coach but from a friend of a friend. You can bet Fine's friends will be in his ear...
"damn, you can play on national TV, big time"
Same thing with family....so if Fine was considering it and by the quote, he was. I would be very worried if I was a UNT fan, about next years QB.
As I said...kids change their minds daily, sometimes hourly. What a kid says on Sr day, is off of emotion...it when he's away from the team and who's in his ear that will probably win out....if its family

GT rule and UNT probably wouldnt have a say in it. Western had 2 players (GTs) to follow Brohm
Currently, the vast majority of scholarships are for only one year (full-ride isn't a real thing for most kids). Each year the kid has to earn their scholarship for the next season and it can be taken away. I wish the NCAA would look at scholarships as a contract between the player and the school. If a school offers a kid a scholarship for one year then the kid can leave after that one year. If a school guarantees the kid four years then the kid can't transfer without permission for those four years.

Fine is a real leader, the kind of player a program only sees once in a generation, if they are lucky. His word means something. If he says he is coming back, then he is coming back. He isn't the kind of guy to back out of his commitment. That is why he is successful and respected.

That may be true but he was thinking about it for a reason....
has many many many months to change his mind again. Leader or not people will be in his ear and if its family I think Fine will be playing somewhere else if its a blueblood school

Watch this and then tell me Fine's family will be in his ear to leave UNT. He will be back next season.
