FCS Playoffs Front Runners Through 11/18/2018
It is almost that time of the year. There will be new teams, and it also looks like that MVFC will not have the most this year. That means other conferences could get more at large bids.

Big Sky
UC-Davis 9-2
Eastern Washington 9-2
Weber State 9-2
Montana State 7-4
Outside
Idaho State 6-5 They are not the worst team in the state. Idaho is in 4th place.
Montana 6-5

Big South
Kennesaw State 10-1
Monmouth 8-3 same 2 teams at the top of the Big South like last.
outside
Campbell 6-5
Charleston Southern 6-5

CAA
Delaware 7-4
Maine 8-3
Elon 6-4
James Madison 8-3
Stony Brook 7-4
Towson 7-4

Outside
URI 6-5

Ind.
Hampton U. 7-3

MVFC
North Dakota State 11-0
South Dakota state 8-2
Indiana State 7-4

Outside:
Illinois State 6-5
N. Iowa 6-5

Others are at .500 or below.

NEC

C. Conn. State 6-5

OVC
Jacksonville State 8-3
Southeast Missouri State 8-3
Eastern Kentucky 7-4

Patriot
Colgate 9-1

Pioneer
San Diego 9-2
Stetson 8-2
Drake 7-3

Outside:

Southern
East Tennessee State 8-3
Wofford 8-3
Furman 6-4

Outside:
Chattanooga 6-5

Southland (warning, it is shocking)
Nicholls State 8-3
Incarnate Word 6-4 2 way tie for 1st.
Lamar 7-4

Outside:
UCA 6-5
Sam Houston State 6-5

Some of these guys would be eliminated after tonight.

FCS Playoffs Front Runners
ISU is soiling the sheets at Cal Poly, but if they can beatbWeber next week in the dome, they still have a shot.

RE: FCS Playoffs Front Runners
You had Eastern Washington beat UC-Davis, Kennesaw State beating Monmouth, Stony Brook beating Delaware and so forth. Colgate and North Dakota State are front runners for a bye. Kennesaw State could get another bye. It is toss up for the other byes. CAA and MVFC both stumbled this year. If Idaho State loses? They may still have a shot at the playoffs. CAA and Southland could get the most spots. Some 1 bid conferences could get a 2nd team into the playoffs along with Independent Hampton U.

There is no way they make it in with a loss. Heck, even if they beat Weber, they would only have 6 DI wins.

I found that out earlier today, they are toast. If the idiot former AD didn’t schedule 2 money games and a D2 game, they would have had room for an additional FCS game. Thankfully his impact will soon be gone.

Was hoping Indiana State would be in at 7-4, if they win this coming week. Could be dicey, as they would only have 6 DI wins as they played Quincy (a non DI win).

How has Kennesaw State's season gone? That game they played vs GSU was pretty entertaining.

They haven't lost since that game. They've also blown out almost everyone they've played.

wouldn't say teams that are at .500 right now are out. If they win this weekend to get to 6-5, some will probably get in.

That's funny. I remember seeing a lot of FCSers talking on various boards about how KSU was going to destroy GSU.....

0 chance Hampton gets in. They have 2 D1 wins, over a 2 win Presbyterian and a 1 win Mississippi Valley State.

RE: FCS Playoffs Front Runners
For the handful that care, this looks like it will be the field tomorrow morning:

Autobids:
Weber State - Big Sky
Kennesaw State - Big South
Maine - Colonial
North Dakota State - Missouri Valley Football
Duquesne - Northeast
Jacksonville State - Ohio Valley
Colgate - Patriot
San Diego - Pioneer
Wofford - Southern
Nicholls - Southland

At-large locks:
Eastern Washington
UC Davis
South Dakota State
James Madison

Very likely:
East Tennessee State
Towson
Delaware
Stony Brook
Indiana State
Montana State

Bubble in: (no particular order)
Southeast Missouri
Elon
Furman
Northern Iowa

Bubble out: (no particular order)
Monmouth
Lamar
Incarnate Word
Rhode Island

NDSU as the #1 seed, no brainer, and heavily favored versus the field.
Kennesaw St, SDSU, EWU & Weber St as #2 to #5 in some order.
Colgate, JMU, UC Davis & Maine - pick 3 for the remaining seeds.

Info mostly pulled and pooled from AGS posters.

A 6 win Northern Iowa
A 6 win Incarnate Word
A 7 win Lamar
A 6 win Elon

None of them should have been in the playoffs.

In fact 24 team playoffs are stupid.

The Incarnate Word game against North Alabama was canceled. They are at 6 wins. They are co-champs of The Southland Conference.

Agree about UIW and Lamar. Committee made some weird decisions(as usual), but the bubble was super soft this year. Probably the worst in 20 years.

Would say that NDSU got as hosed as possible for the #1. Montana St, JMU & SDSU all before the championship game. But it is what it is.

Still believe that the MVFC has multiple team out that are much better than some of the teams that made it in, but they crapped the bed when in mattered so I can't complain. Southland didn't deserve 3, and CAA no way deserved 6. Seriously, 6?

SDSU is underseeded at #5, but they had a couple terrible games that cost them the spot. And 3 seeded Big Sky teams is a stretch. JMU coach salty over no seed, but they had a lot of bad losses.

Overall, just a crappy field this year. Lots of teams losing games they shouldn't have, lots of teams forgetting how to play football when it counted.
